NAUTILUS INN HOUSE BEACH, MANGEL HALTO, ARUBA

Built in 1954 as a residence by the Electricity Corporation, this classic home is now being converted into the perfect, comfortable vacation home for international divers. Located in a quiet residential area at a 3 minutes’ walk from the Spanish Lagoon beach in Aruba, Nautilus INN will be ready to welcome visitors as of August 1, 2020.

It is a 10 minutes’ drive from the Queen Beatrix International Airport where aircrafts from the United States, Canada, Colombia, the Caribbean and Europe land every day.

The vacation home offers 2 separate cozy bedrooms with AC, a communal room, shared bathroom with warm water and a fully equipped kitchen. Setting up your barbeque grill is not a problem on the spacious terrace. Wifi connection is available so you can stay in touch with family and friends.

Nautilus INN is the ideal spot for longtime friends who want to take a break away from their busy

careers and experience the underwater life, catch up and together enjoy all that the One Happy Island of Aruba has to offer.

Nautilus INN is part of the Nautilus Dive Center, a member of PADI. The diving crew has 30 years of experience. You can enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, excursions and more.

You will be sharing Nautilus INN with the main dive instructor who will be present to cater to your needs and answer all your questions onsite. Transportation is available to take you to all the interesting diving sites Aruba offers.

In the evenings you can wind down on the terrace of Nautilus INN feeling the cool evening breeze and plan the days ahead with a pizza and a cool drink.

This is a 2 star facility, and priced accordingly, don’t expect it to be some hidden gem, it is a place to get some sleep, nothing more, nothing less. The staff is very friendly, the facility is pretty rough.

Ideal for divers who do not care about anything else but diving.

The first red flag was zero to minimal communication with the hosts, but moving on. The property is kind of hard to find, especially with no instruction from the host. This place is probably ok for divers, but definitely not for a couples get away. You get what you pay for! After traveling all day, we found out there was no hot water. No warm water either. The shower water was COLD, not warm, not lukewarm, not solar heated warm, COLD! If that’s your thing then maybe this place is for you. The first night, we could hear the host snoring from everywhere in the house. The walls are thin! We were woken up bright and early (7am) to tanks clanking, loud talking, and slamming gate doors. We could hear EVERYTHING, even whispering because there is a giant 5” by 5’ hole in the wall above the bed, that leads into their dove shop office. It is covered by the flag you probably saw in the pictures. This as well as the water issue, were not disclosed to us upon booking. There are basically zero amenities except for a crusty coffee maker that looks like it has never been washed. The sheets looked dirty and are less than paper thin, bring your own blanket if you’re cold natured because there are none. If you’re ok with cold showers, great, but be warned, because of the awful half glass shower wall, the bathroom floor floods. When the issue of the hot water was brought to the hosts attention, he promised the heater would be fixed “that same day” but it was not. Would not stay again!

Located in the very safe and quiet area. Great place to stay if you want to snorkle. Rent a car. Bring water shoes and snorkeling gear. Yes, no hot shower; but we almost didn't need one.

Simple, affordable spot

Everything said about Juan and Angela is spot-on! Great people, couldn't be better! Juan catered to my specific dive request at the busiest time of the year! The shop is steps from a dock where you can get fresh fish straight from the sea early morning or late afternoon. They will prepare the fish for you if you ask. But you will not be on the water here. Near Mangel Halto beach which is quiet and lovely. Do rent a car to get around the island. They will rent to you direct to save money and pick up and drop off at the airport. The unit is a one bedroom with two twin beds in the living room with small table. A/C works great in both rooms. The small kitchen has everything you need. I asked for a coffee maker and a grill and they were there waiting for us from day one. On arrival there was very little there beyond a bit of paper towel and half roll of toilet paper. We left behind extras, be prepared to buy cooking oil, really everything consumable or disposable. This includes beach towels and a cooler which for some reason we had to buy. One thing to clarify: the water temperature is whatever the ambient air provides. No cold or hot from the pipes. But water pressure is fine. The door has some gaps, be prepared for mosquitoes. Very basic interior, some work clearly handyman level. If that's not your thing, this isn't your place. But we had a blast and could not have been happier. Great people and if you dive, these are the ones you want!

Goed gelegen, beetje primitief maar vriendelijk verblijf.

Negatief: De tekst in de advertentie klopte niet helemaal. Er was geen parkeerplaats op eigen terrein. Althans daar stond al een boot. Je kon wel goed in de straat parkeren. In de advertentie was het een 6 persoons huisje met twee slaapkamers met dubbelbed en twee eenpersoons bedden in de woonkamer. In de praktijk was er 1 slaapkamer en de woonkamer. De andere slaapkamer was afgesloten. Vanuit mijn slaapkamer moest ik daardoor altijd door de woonkamer waar mijn zoon sliep om bij toilet, keuken of terras te komen. Dat vond ik niet prettig. Ze waren ook aan het verbouwen met herrie. Ze probeerden dat wel in overleg te doen. De keukeninrichting was zeer summier. Geen elektrische waterkoker of waterketel voor op het gas. Nauwelijks pannen. Geen waslijn of droogrek op het terras voor handdoeken of handwasje. Airco in slaapkamer mocht overdag niet gebruikt worden; airco in de woonkamer maakte het terras erg heet. Positief: het zijn zeker aardige mensen zijn. Als je wilt duiken of snorkelen zit je hier goed. Het is namelijk ook een duikschool. Het is geweldig gelegen op het eiland. Centraal. Je kan lopend bij mooie rustige snorkel stranden komen met hier en daar schaduw. Mangrove bossen. Restaurant en winkel op loopafstand. Rustige buurt. Bij het huisje hoorde ook 3 strandstoelen en een koelbox om mee naar het strand te kunnen nemen. Dat was heel prettig. Op het terras hing een hangmat.

Excellent Aruba stay

We had a wonderful time at the Nautilus Inn. The hosts, Juan and Angela went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The space is simple and clean with an awesome shower! We spent time every day on the covered patio and in the hammock. Comfortable and safe. Blackie the cat kept us company in the mornings as we enjoyed our coffee outside. Hosts are very responsive and made many great recommendations. And if you want to scuba or snorkel, this is the place to do it. The hosts also run the scuba, snorkeling school, and do excursions. We did a snorkeling excursion. That was absolutely stunning and Jose was amazing. Definitely would come again and stay here!

Great place to stay in Aruba

First time using VRBO for travel . was very satisfied. The descriptions spot on. It is right next to possibly the best beach in Aruba Mangel Halito. Angela was a considerate host. The property has two rooms and a kitchen and most of the implements are provided. I would recommend to get a rental car though due to being a little away from the Large hotels. But in the end it will save you a lot of money. The property is adjoining the dive shop. and if you are interested in Diving you are probably in the best place in Aruba. We did not dive but it was still a great location for us. Also they have a very nice Cat called Blackie. Who also looks after the tenants with timely visits and inquiries.

I liked that it was close to one of the beaches. I did not like the dive facility accomodations. They offered a small boat/raft. The dive master did not communicate well, prior to arrival; therefore, I booked with Jads and was completely satisfied! I did not like the fact that this facility was so far away from town. Get ready to pay a lot for taxi or rent a car!

Best Place on Aruba

Next to the best beach of Aruba, Mangel Halto. If you love to swim in turquoise water, snorkel close to the beach or even dive, this is your place to stay. Angela and Juan are great hosts, apartment is very nice with your private terrace, if you want to dive, you can do it with Juan. We definitely want to come back!

Scuba snorkel and beach stay in Pos Chiquito

I had a wonderful stay here. The apartment was larger than what I expected and had a nice kitchen and covered patio area to sit outside. Very clean and the ac worked great. The beach is right around the corner and the snorkeling couldn’t be better. Juan and his wife Amelia run the dive center there as well and I was able to try scuba for the first time ever. It was a lot of fun. Juan is a patient instructor who knows how to make it a good time. I have stayed in this area before since I’m not a fan of big hotels and tons of people. This is a great spot if you have a group of people who want to go diving. They have a boat and two vans so if you want to schedule a dive or a tour to a beach they can make it happen. I would definitely recommend their place. Also if you are lucky Amelia makes the best empanadas I have had on the island in all my trips down.
