On my way to Isole Filecudi,i had to stay over a night in Palermo. I called Hotel Martorana after I found it on Hotels.com. I was answered by a very nice man named Luoigi, and even though he didnt speak that well english ,we managed to understand eachother. Even tough i arrived late, after check in time, it was no problems. I got in by a ring-bell and Luigi was there waiting. The hotel lies nearby all central attractions. A nice walk from , central train station, local Piazza, and a walk distance from the port. I was very pleased with the room, service, and aircondition, and a nice balcony out in the streets of Via roma. The bathrooms was also very nice and clean, with hot water and a nice shower. And free wifi. I paid 55 euros for 2 people for 1 night and breakfast included. Not a big bufe ,but enough to have peace of bread, coffe and fruits. I would use it again if im in palermo! :)
