Nyt det hemmelige spillrommet med en våt bar, foosball, dart, pokerbord, 100 "skjerm for filmer eller spill; det nye 6-personers spa; 800 SF master suite (55" HDTV, king size-seng, sittegruppe med peis og hav utsikt, et eget spa-sittegruppe med en klofot-badekar og peis); fem ildsteder totalt; og åpent konsept stort rom med peis, to lanaier og nytt kokkekjøkken med utsikt over havet og Yaquina fyrtårn.

Den lukkede verandaen har et glitrende seks-manns spa for å slappe av etter dagen med utforsking eller strandkam.

To store soverom med havutsikt på første nivå inkluderer et med en queen-size kalesjerom og en privat dekk, gasspeis og sjeselong. Det andre soverommet har dramatiske karnappvinduer, en stor kirsebærpeis, walk-in closet og to ekstra lange enkeltsenger som kan kombineres som en king size-seng.

Det splitter nye kjøkkenet er en kokkedrøm, med vakre lær-ferdig granitt benkeplater, spiseplass for 6-8, og en øy med plass til 5. Family of 4(including 10 month old baby) and dog. Location is perfect. Property needs TLC- it’s been on the market for a while and it shows. I would have liked to give this place a higher rating as requested in the rental agreement. We had an issue checking in as the keypad was broken. Property manager business phone line was disconnected. Cell phone straight to voicemail. Our email was responded to two hours later (almost 9pm) to help us get in. The staff member(s) were professional and did assist us the next morning with door issue. Listing is more quirky than the description details provided-I would not describe this space as “luxury”. The spa was heated when we arrived, however, most of the jets are broken w/sediment on the bottom. With a new walker/crawler, we were happy to find that some of the stairs are blocked off with doors and a nice travel crib was available. The secret game room was fun- except the remote needed new batteries, the record player doesn’t work, and the projector screen is connected to the lights & a movie cannot be watched unless the lights are fully on which makes the screen barely visible. The house layout is ideal for a family group/two families to have space to play and spread out. Most furniture pieces are worn, sunken in, or uncomfortable. We hoped for a better view- it’s not “panoramic”. Deep clean is needed- very dusty light fixtures, baseboards & shelves. Great shower water pressure, however has pink/dirty floor and constant drip.

Great place!

This place was wonderful with the exception of a couple admin mix-ups. We got a call 3 hours before our check in time that they accidentally “double booked” and we would not be able to stay that night. They offered a couple of other locations and we ended up staying in the downstairs unit which was a studio. There was not much sympathy for this mix up on their part. Not ideal for a family of 5. We were able to get into our originally booked unit the next day and the next day at 6 pm got a text asking if our kids could please not “pound around” because the downstairs people go to bed early and could we hang out on the third floor…having stayed in that unit the first night, we knew you can hear every little thing down there, however, felt it was in poor taste to ask us to basically not move. Other than these two things we loved this place. Very comfy for a family, super clean and wonderful location.

Long weekend at the beach

Great stay in Newport

We really enjoyed our stay, the location is wonderful close to the beach and very good restaurants. All walkable. There was a little confusion on when we would receive the check in information we typically hear a week before. The supplies in the kitchen were adequate. Took a little time to figure out the fans but we did .We definitely would recommend the facility.

Great Location, house layout is a little odd

We wanted to get together in Newport to try the seafood, and that did not disappoint. The house is scenic but not a direct beach/ocean view as the pictures would lead you to believe because there are apartments in the way across from a park directly in front of the residence. The furnishings and overall quality of the residence are great, with a few oddities - the master bed shower/tub is interesting, you would need to be < 5' in height to actually shower in it. The pictures leave you to believe that the hot tub is in a great porch setting; it's actually totally enclosed in a small plexiglass windowed room that you encounter just inside the front door. Would we stay there again? Probably yes.

Fell short of our expectations

I wanted to love this rental, but I was let down. My family was celebrating my dad's 70th birthday. The rental was clean and had most of the amenities you'd expect for the price. Unfortunately, this was tainted by a few things: an unusable hot tub, concerns about security, and zero communication from the property manager. The hot tub was 82* when we arrived, and did not get above 86*. We followed the instructions to verify it was in the correct mode, but there was no cover so most of the heat escaped into the enclosed porch. For having 'spa' in the title, this was a huge let down. There is another rental below ours with a connecting door. This door was not locked and there was no way to lock it. We didn't know whether somebody was renting this other property but we were not very happy with the possibility of a stranger with easy access to our space including two teenagers sleeping in the room with the door. I emailed the property manager 45 min after we arrived about these issues. No response. The next morning I called the number posted throughout the house and was told that it was the incorrect number. I called the mobile number in the confirmation emails and got a message stating the number was not valid. I still have not received a response. Additionally, the wifi info (both displayed at the home and emailed) wasn't correct, I got connected by using the password off the router. There was no detergent yet we were expected to wash towels, so had to go buy some.

Good location - room to spread out

The location is nice and there is room to spread out. There isn't enough seating in the main living area for four or more people to comfortably watch a show together. But, there a lot of smaller spots if you like to divide up your group. Nice view from the dining area and the upstairs main suite.

Avoid at all costs

My kids and I planned a much needed vacation and booked this house because of its size, hot tub, and wood stove/ fireplaces. The stove on the main floor didn’t work. The tvs are very difficult to work. The hot tub had mold in it. The home has a mold issue. The patio with hot tub is not properly ventilated and the walls are literally covered in mold spores. There is also mold growing on the doormat, and mold on the deadbolt to the front door. We checked in at night, when it was dark and it took me until the next morning to process the severity of the situation. The house smells musty. The windows all had black mold growing in them, and the skylight in the upstairs suite shows signs of a water leak that’s been painted over along with water damage and black mold. Considering I was there with my three children and dog, it was hard to fathom leaving and finding another comfortable place last minute but I saw no other option. I spent an entire day trying to contact the property owner, who was for the most part unresponsive. She finally did send someone over to “clean” the windows but that would not have fixed the mold infested patio, that you HAD to walk through to enter the home. I tried to explain to her that I’m sensitive to mold and needed to leave but she refused to do the right thing and refund my money. Finally, I decided I had no choice but to vacate the house and take my kids to the only place we could find with the kitchen, which was a tiny motel. Dream homes of Oregon was a complete nightmare for us. There’s a reason they offer an industrial size HEPA filter when you are staying at this home.

Property is well located Just a block from Nye Beach, plenty of things to do from walking to Nye Beach, relaxing on the second floor where living room and kitchen to the secret game room. Next time we will enjoy the hot tube.

Newport stay

The house was located in a great spot for our trip. We were at a family reunion and everything was just a short drive. Shopping and site seeing were just minutes in every direction. Only bad thing was all the stairs and lack of television in the room where we all spent most of our time.

Captain's Quarters Jun 21

Arrived exhausted following 2 long driving days, and heard sounds from upstairs, wound up being soft jazz radio music, instantly setting the tone to relax and enjoy! Beautiful view. LOVED the walkability to beach, Yaquina lighthouse, Nye Beach shops, restaurants. Home was clean and owner kind and responsive. Master bedroom / top floor space is a sweet spot to be, pics don't do it justice. 4 of us in our family, all adults now and there was plenty of room to be together or have time alone. Would easily accommodate more. Highly recommend this property.

Over promised and under delivered

You should get a sense of this place based on my last communication with owner and her reply at the end. I hope others don't get fooled by the slicking marketing of an old unusable relic. My statement: Good day Lauri, After getting back home yesterday and actual getting some rest I wanted to send you an email about our experience at Captain's Quarters. This was the first vacation that we took in over a year and a half and were really looking forward to it. One of the things that I was really seeking was lounge in peace in a hot tub, so when I did my searches I specifically filter that item in. Upon arriving we discovered the hot tub and checked the temperature to see if it needed to be heated more. The meter indicated that it was only at 78 degrees, so I immediately turned up the temperature gauge so we could use it later in the evening. As later in the evening arrived, the temperature was only 88 degrees. Very sad face incurred. Since there was a total of six of us, after having dinner there was a lot of dirty dishes, I did the initial cleaning and put everything in the dishwasher to discover that the dishwasher wasn't working. Sad to say, hand washing dishes (total of four loads) during the entire stay wasn't quite the vacation I was looking forward to. Since there was nothing to do because the hot tub wasn't working, the kids wanted to watch a movie in the main bedroom. After turning on the TV with one of the four remotes, the screen said another one of the remotes had "batteries were extremely low to use," so we had to scramble for batteries in replacing them with another remote to make it function. Then the next adventure began. Almost everything wasn't accessible because it required a PIN. Finally, got to something that you could watch. Fun times... Getting up the next morning I checked the hot tub, which was only at 90 degrees, so I let it run all day while we were out doing activities with the hopes that it would come to temperature. Finally, a break. When we got back to the house around 3 PM, it was up to 100 degrees. Small victory. Second time making dinner, less than half way into grilling the food, the propane take goes out. As usual we do a work around and have to finish the cooking in the oven. Hopefully, the next "suckers" won't have to worry at least during their stay. Her reply: "Sounds like you should stay in a hotel from now on."

Perfect for family

Perfect home for a family vacation. Beautiful ocean views and access to Nye Beach community. The home, hot-tub and porches were perfect for keeping everyone happy. I would highly recommend this spot.

Great house and location

Our stay was overall good. The house was great, there was just a few things that did not work. The hot tub was not working properly. The dishwasher did not work. The fireplace on the kitchen floor did not work.

Location and Charm!

Great house in a perfect spot to enjoy Nye Beach District and the sandy beach. Set up with everything you need for a great vacation...just bring food! Game room would be perfect for kids to have their own space to play.

Captains Quarters Nye Beach

love the place! Great house with really interesting furniture and furnishings all over the place. Multiple terraces, great gas grill, good kitchen....and all a short stroll over to the beach or town.
