The ground-floor apartment has charming vaulted ceilings with exposed stone work. The décor is a stylish combination of traditional architecture and modern fittings. There is an unusual openair courtyard sitting room where guests can relax and enjoy a drink al fresco. Inside, the spacious bedroom has a double bed, a flat-screen TV and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette is equipped with a Nespresso coffee maker, an induction hob and a small fridge. It is perfectly equipped for making breakfast or a light snack.

The unique private swimming pool is covered so can be used all year round. Next to this guests can enjoy the Turkish bath and a chromotheraputic shower where guests can benefit from the combination of water and light.

Location
The apartment is in the centre of Melissano, a pretty town only 10 minutes from the Ionian coast. The surrounding farmland is known for producing excellent wines which can be tried in one of the town’s lovely restaurants. For self-catering the weekly market is held every Monday morning and is the best place to pick up fresh local ingredients. Alternatively there are grocery stores and a supermarket within 5 minutes of the apartment.

Melissano is a short drive from the stunning beaches between Torre Suda and Torre Monza. This stretch of coast on the Ionian Sea is known for its crystal clear sea, pale sand and gentle, sloping shores which are ideal for less experienced swimmers or families with young children.

The town of Ugento (10 minutes) has a rich cultural heritage with some fine medieval and Baroque architecture. The Castello di Ugento, built in the Middle Ages, is worth a visit, as it houses a museum showcasing local history and art. Visitors can explore the charming historic town centre and enjoy one of its many excellent restaurants.

The port of Gallipoli (the Beautiful City), which was founded by Greek settlers thousands of years ago, is just 20 minutes away. Here you will find fascinating historical sites, ancient city walls and some of the best fish in Salento. It is the ideal day out.
