This is really 2 reviews. One for travelers that have overnighted on small to medium sized sailboats before and a second one for those who have not.
1. For sailors. No surprises, comfortable V berth that would be tight for anyone over 6 feet tall. Galley with propane stove. Above average shore facilities with showers and laundry. Owner requests the head (toilet) only be used for "emergencies". Not sure what that means so you may need to clarify with the host. We just used the shore facilities.
2. For non-sailors. You should look at this as a camping trip in a nice pop-up camper or tent. If mobility is an issue this will not work for you. AC works great. No heat, which usually would not matter, but we were there for the 2 coldest nights in the past 15 years. Like I said- similar to camping.
We stayed for 2 non-consecutive weeks. One was normal January weather (warm/hot) and the other was very cold by local standards. We would stay again. Very nice marina/hotel facilities with upscale restaurant, bar, and pool. Free parking and a free shuttle to downtown Key West that leaves on the hour from 9am to 10pm. The host was great and she will be happy to answer any questions before you book.
