We rented this property two years ago in June, for my husbands birthday. That stay was great. No complaints. However this past week we stayed again for my husbands birthday. As did friends from Ada prior too us and after. First thing I noticed was a hammock and other amenities from prior visit were gone, which was a let down since we paid way more this time. A friend spent hours trying to grill some ribs.... only two burners would fire up, and one had no level only stayed low. The oven took an extra 25 minutes to cook a pizza. The stove took forever to fully cook our breakfast. The dryer required multiple cycles to fully dry. Ok still at this point no complaints, inconveniences but we were still enjoying our time. The day of check out a guest with us (a minor) locked their keys in their car. We loaded everything up and waited on pop a lock. They show up around 10:45 yes check out is 11. At 9am I told The home owners the situation and we may still be in the driveway if they hadn’t gotten the car unlocked in time. Well 11:08 we are outside but out of the home. I get a text from the owner that we aren’t gone yet and the cleaning lady needs in. Responded she was able to go in due to none of us even being inside the residence (pop a lock had just finished and we were pulling out). We stripped all bedding, started a load of dishes and rinsed what was in the sink, swept the floor, wiped counters and all before leaving cause that’s just how we are. Fast forward to now. I receive an email from the property insurance that the owners have filed a eight hundred insurance claim. For theft of coffee and filters..... this is provided in the house how could we steal it when it’s free to use? Broken umbrella for seventy nine, which was not touched or used by our family. It was open upon arrival and left how it was. Four fifty for “grease down the sink” for one we didn’t make anything with grease, and two we did wash gravy down the sink. That is not five hundred in damage. Two fifty for extra cleaning, as explained above my mot her and I worked extra to try and clean up so I know that is unnecessary and extreme. The owners now will not response to me hints why Im reviewing. This is insurance fraud and quite frankly just unethical. I suppose This is why you take the insurance out but still this is fraud, and by someone who works for and runs freedom insurance in her local town. She must know the ins and outs of what she can file. Insurance fraud/scam don’t rent.
