Perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a quiet and very private writer's retreat, this adorable and unique cabin was constructed using materials from the island itself to ensure it fits in naturally with its surroundings. With a wide-open, studio-like floor plan, this home features a well-equipped kitchenette, a table for two, a cozy living area, and a desk and chair—perfect for your laptop. The lower level (accessible from the outside) holds a private washer/dryer so that you never have to drive to the local laundromat. Outdoors, this cabin includes a small deck and backyard area perfect for a hammock, grilling, or stargazing.

Local beaches, a kayak launch, a public dock, and downtown are all just steps away. Eastsound is home to many local shops and restaurants, like the New Leaf Cafe with its seasonal French breakfasts as well as the Lower Tavern for excellent burgers and seafood. Eastsound is also home to the fun and fascinating Orcas Island Historical Museum and the Orcas W.I.L.D. Science and Discovery Center. The historic observation tower at Mt. Constitution is just 11 miles east and boasts 360-degree views of Canada and the San Juan islands. Mt. Constitution is also within Moran State Park, which offers many opportunities for hiking, biking, and water sports.

Great for one person

This is a nice place for one person or two people very comfortable together given the toilet is in the bedroom with no separation. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. I would stay here again.

Loved it- little bit of a heads up though...

We loved it, and we'd love to stay there again. The property is darling, and just as pictured. What we didn't realize (no rating points deducted- it's a me thing) there is NO door to the commode. The shower curtain and freestanding screen can help to block everything from being in full view- but if staying with someone else you may want to take this into consideration... we made it through, relationship intact (if a little less mystery than before😂) But- the place was super clean, and again, darling. Clear that great care has been taken. We were there just after a snowstorm, so the driveway was a little tricky, but that's super rare and we just parked at the bottom of when it was super icy. Location couldn't have been better- walking barely a block to grocery... or the local pub... or the yummy cafe... a peek of the ocean and super quiet setting up in the trees- what's not to love?! The only thing that made me the tiniest bit nervous is we were so close to arriving before we got our check in instructions... we came from quite a distance, was a little unnerving to not know ahead of time exactly how we were going to access the property- or even what the actual address is. If I could adjust anything I'd have liked to have gotten that info a couple of days earlier at least. Other than that, super five stars- we'll be back!!

Lovely and safe space for our big day!

My partner and I booked this place as our home base during the weekend of our wedding at the Orcas Island Oddfellows hall. It was cozy and close to everything we needed and had a lovely little yard for us to sit out and relax together when we got overwhelmed. Highly recommend it. Everything was clean and neat and there were so many cute little touches for our comfort

Excellent location and cozy accommodation for 2

The location of this property couldn’t be beat! My husband and I loved the proximity of it to the shops/restaurants in Eastsound. It was small, but had all the amenities we needed - even laundry! Our only criticism was the lack of curtains that meant we had no choice but to rise with the sun in the morning. Overall a great experience though!

Good but Small things to consider

Love the location and coziness of the cabin. A few things that would make it much more enjoyable. 1. the bathtub shower combo is terrible. The curtains are a pain and takes time to get them right so water doesn't go out onto the floor. 2. Exiting the bathtub is completely unreasonable for older people to get out of. While my wife and I are active, we both almost fell the first time getting out. She had an issue as the bathmat slipped due to the height difference and angle from bathtub to floor. I had an issue as I don't wear my glasses in the shower so the difference in height totally caught me off-guard and almost ended up on the ground. 3. The shelf behind the toilet is rickety at best. It also impedes on being able to put the toilet seat up. 50% of the time I had to hold the toilet seat up as it would fall down due to not having enough room to open. Please add a softclose toilet seat at the same time when fixing the shelf. 4. The mini freezer is loud. 5. A small bench outside the front door would be nice for putting on shoes.

property was right next to downtown, so everything was dasy to get to. Parking is a little tough with the steep tight driveway and turn around area. The house is comfortable and light with plenty of windows, but dtill private because of it's location and vegetation.

Beautiful cabin/great location/But with significant quirks

The cabin is beautiful and looks like a display from Architectural Digest. Be aware that there is no way to darken the sleeping area. The arrangement for stools around a central eating area is useless (as is the beautiful useless dish drainer). Luckily there are tables and chairs that can be arranged for eating. The tube and shower arrangement is a bit challenging. The bedroom dresser was filled with linens and towels that could have been stored elsewhere. There is no closet or hangers so a series of wall hooks are supposedly for hanging your clothes. The driveway is challenging to get down once you’ve parked at the top. We enjoyed using the cabin for our Orcas island stay, but hopefully the owner or property manager will address some of these issues

Great stay

This house is in an excellent location in Eastsound - everything in the center of town is walkable. The house is cozy, very clean, and has all of the necessities. Having the laundry downstairs is great. Although we would stay here again, this property is not for everyone. Privacy in the bathroom and sleeping area is achieved by moving barn doors and a small privacy screen around (but no sound barriers!). There is a window over the sink that is exposed when the barn doors are moved. The windows in the sleeping area have sheer curtains; there are no curtains in the main living space. There are trees all around which helps. You will awaken with the sunrise even if it’s cloudy. :) The driveway is very steep and only has room for 3 vehicles if you park one behind the other on the hill. One large vehicle (or maybe two small) would fit on the level section at the top of the hill. You’re in the woods so expect ants if you don’t take out your garbage promptly. Overall a great find for a great price.

Lovely get away

Our friends camped at Moran but because of some health issues I couldn’t camp so we were lucky enough to to find this gem right in Eastsound and 10 minutes to Cascade Lake and Moran State Park. It was a lovely retreat at the end of the day. Minimalist interior design but with everything you need. Super clean. Plenty of hot water, quiet and peaceful. Location cannot be best. The bathroom situation didn’t bug us too much. We slide the barn doors around to create privacy between the living room and bathroom when we needed it. If you’d be uncomfortable using the bathroom while your partner laid in bed nearby you may not be into this arrangement.

Perfect location on orcas island

This cabin was in the perfect spot for those that want to explore orcas island. Walking distance to the grocery store, shops and restaurants. There is a bed and futon, but I would not recommend packing the house full. It's an open floor plan with little privacy when it comes to the bathroom.
