Welcome to Hillcrest Cottage - a small, cozy home oozing with charm and character. Close to downtown Gastonia, I-85 or 321 highway - this cottage is convenient, well decorated, clean, comfortable home for guests visiting for a short or long stay. This location is convenient to both downtown Gastonia and I-85 and 321 making both Kings Mountain and Charlotte easily accessible. Tucked away on a quiet side street makes this house location ideal when visiting Gastonia.

Have coffee on the enclosed front porch surrounded by arched doors and flooded with sunlight, lounge in the comfortable and stylish den, glass of wine on the back porch or sleep well on the new queen signature sleep mattresses.
Although we aim to be family friendly, this house is especially suited well for business travelers. We have smart TVs in each bedroom and one bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the other bedroom has it's own hall bathroom right outside it's door. Relax on the back porch with a glass of wine at the end of your day or coffee on the enclosed front porch. All the comforts of home at Hillcrest Cottage.

You will have access to the entire house.

I am always a message away! Emailing or messaging is best as unknown numbers may go to voicemail or spam. Although I don't personally meet our guests, I am readily available to fix any problems or answer any questions.

This location is convenient to both downtown Gastonia and I-85 and 321 making both Kings Mountain and Charlotte easily accessible. Tucked away on a quiet side street makes this house location ideal when visiting Gastonia or surrounding areas. Hiking at Crowders Mountain State park is close by for a unique experience only Gaston County can offer.

Car is best! Single lane driveway parking allows for two or 3 cars easily

Close to the highway, convenient to I-85 and 321, this adorable cottage has one ensuite bathroom and another bedroom/bathroom. See our other listings for standards we hold of cleanliness and setting the standard high. Luxury towels, stocked kitchen supplies and even some basic gym gear in the front sunroom for those wanting to do yoga or weights while they travel.

*We do ask you to sign a rental agreement and we utilize a security deposit hold before all stays to prevent blatant disregard for house rules. Thank you!

Our family stayed for our family get together for Christmas and they had a wonderful stay and the house is beautiful and very clean. It was so convenient with us living across the street.

Overall, not that impressed

Communication with host was fine and no problem with check in.Upon entering the property, a musty smell was very noticeable and lingered throughout our stay. The living room couch was worn and dirty. The back porch furniture was covered with pet hair or something similar- we did not use it. One bathroom does not have a toilet paper holder and there were ants crawling near the entrance and shower door. I reached out to the host regarding the ants and the host did respond telling us to use the ant spray under the kitchen sink. No spray, but there was Terro liquid that I put out. Many ants then attended the Terro feast. Somehow, I just don’t feel like this should have been our responsibility and seeing ants like this does not provide for a pleasant experience. We found a stray earring on the floor and we left that on the dresser in the guest room.

Great experience!

From scheduling to checkout everything was an easy experience. The cottage was cute, clean, and comfortable. The location was perfect and the neighborhood was nice and well maintained. We didn’t have any complaints or concerns during our stay. Response from the host was quick at all times. We would definitely recommend this cottage if you are staying in the area. My husband and I were here with our 15 year old daughter for a family wedding that was taking place in Kings Mountain. It was a quick easy drive to get there. We spent one day at Carowinds which was also a good day trip. Overall a great experience!

Love this cottage!

We love this pretty cottage… cozy, comfortable, clean and had plenty of room to spread out when family came by. My favorite spot is the back screened porch to chat, read, watch the birds and just enjoy a light breeze. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with supplies. We hope to stay again soon. I highly recommend this cottage. The host was great. Thank you!

Birthday Getaway

The home is wonderful. We wanted to visit Charlotte but we didn't want to stay in Charlotte. The beds were comfortable and slept well. If you enjoy antique shopping, there's a cute shop less than five miles away. The owners are friendly and welcoming.

Nice Cottage/Great Location

This cottage was ideally situated for our visit to the Charlotte area. Convenient location close to I85 made our trips to see family and friends very convenient. House was very well kept and all appliances, etc. were in good working order. Yard and porches looked great. BeingNovember we didn't get to take full advantage but the property was very nice and well kept. Property manager was very responsive. A small issue came up during our stay, and was handled appropriately and timely by the owner.

Fabulous, clean and comfortable little cottage!

This is a sweet little property, and was just right for spending several quiet days with my husband and mother while we visited the area. It's located in Gastonia's historic district - a quaint neighborhood of like homes not far from the town's growing downtown area, where we enjoyed several very good restaurants. The house has been renovated with homey thoughtful touches and a soft color scheme that lends to a comfortable stay. The owner makes it clear through several messages (before, during and at the end of the stay) that she's there to help with whatever her tenants need to make their stay just right. I travel quite a lot and use VRBO frequently - this place is lovely.

Great location for surrounding areas lose to Gastionia.

Visiting for family wedding. Great location and size of house. Nice that house had two full bathrooms to get ready. Party traveling was four adults (two couples). Great kitchen and living room was perfect size. The men didn’t miss the Saturday college football games. This house is a win win would stay again.

Beautiful Home

Beautifully decorated, charming home in a nice neighborhood. Lots of space in a fenced back yard. We loved it all! The beds and pillows were very comfortable, using the locks was easy, it was a very nice place for my wife to hang out with the kids during the week while I was doing work nearby. The 3 smart tv's with a roku in guest mode were really convenient. Highly recommend.
