Ocean, Deer and Turkeys, Oh My !

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay here, the ocean view was fantastic! the fireplace added to the peaceful ambience of the upstairs, along with "Crabby Patty" sitting above it. Most of our time was spent exploring the area, relaxing on the beaches, the many restaurants, the town thrift store, watching the deer and wild turkeys, walking the neighborhood and Fiscalini Park. That being said, upon our arrival we found the downstairs was uninhabitable, it was dark and had a strong odor of mildew (that did not go away). the bath/shower was difficult to maneuver in and out of, forcing us to use the downstairs shower. the house was clean on the surface but needed a deep clean inside and out. We were looking forward to using the BBQ but found it dirty and rusty and we could not and would not use it. Not enough lighting in the living room, and at the dining table for eating as well as watching tv. There were no blinds on the dining room slider, which canceled out any privacy. All in all, we felt that the pros out weighed the cons and would consider staying here again if all of the problems were taken care of. p.s. the living room couch and chairs were sooo comfortable! a real plus to have comfortable furniture to relax on.

They didn’t take me seriously

After months of anticipation about staying at Snug Harbor, we arrived to a nice house with a spectacular view. I gave cleanliness two stars, but that wasn’t because the house wasn’t clean but because the property management company didn’t inspect the house prior to our arrival. I say that because the carpet was sopping wet from cleaning and really colored our stay. For the first three days, after wringing out all of my pairs of socks, we were forced to wear hard shoes when walking around the house. Before we realized how serious the problem was, my feet were bright red as a reaction to the chemicals in the cleaning solution. The real problem as I see it is, when I called the property management company, they didn’t take me seriously and offered mere lip service to my complaint. To their credit, they did offer to move us to another property which seemed infeasible after having settled in. If there is a lesson that the PM company could have learned from it would be to take complaints more seriously. There was no attempt to inspect the house after my complaint. Of course, this would have been avoided if they had inspected the house before our arrival. I doubt seriously that they would have allowed us to enter the house if they had known the condition of the carpet. This was my first experience with Vrbo and it isn’t a good memory.

snug harbor

our stay was wonderful, the home was very clean. thankful they allowed our pup and the infants. the only problem we had was that the book of instructions that a paper said would be on the kitchen counter was not. so when we left we just did what we normally do at other vrob’s and hoped it was up to standard. also the kitchen faucet needs fixing or replacing as it’s very hard to shut off the water completely. there is a lot of water being wasted. and we wish the home provided full cable. but all in all it was comfortable and pleasent. we would stay there again!

Great Place to Enjoy Cambria

My family stayed here to celebrate a college graduation. We had five adults in the house, which worked out perfectly. This house is very cozy and comfortable and it was a great place to relax after busy days with activities and sightseeing. Nice view of the ocean from the deck. The beds were really comfortable, which is always a plus. We joked that it was almost too quiet since we are all used to noisy city sounds at night. It was great having a two-car garage to use as well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Pretty view, but needs attention

This home was not as expected - we came in through the garage and were met with an awkward dark hallway that needs some serious attention - paint is old, chipped and dirty. Carpet is worn and needs cleaning. We looked into the bottom bedroom and bathroom and decided against staying down there - dark and a bit depressing and not in good shape. We proceeded up some very steep stairs to the upstairs. The living is light with beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets and is the best area of the home. with bright blue chairs and couches and a gas fire, it’s a comfortable space. Kitchen is well equipped, clean though very dated - cabinets need a refresh. There are a lot of sliding doors and windows that allow for fresh air, which is nice as the smell of mildew was overwhelming when we arrived. We stayed in the room with a light colored duvet and the bed was quite comfortable, and with the windows open, the sound of the ocean was delightful. The showerhead doesn’t work and the faucet to the tub runs at the same time which was frustrating, with low water pressure. We ended up having to shower downstairs which was not ideal. The interior of the home really needs painting - loads of dings, stains and chips, and the carpet clearly needs replacing. The screen door in the room was almost impossible to open, and the other screens need replacing as they are worn. At this price point, we expected more, especially with all the fees associated with VRBO in addition to the Property Management fees. $1200+ for 3 nights was too much for the shape this home and yard are in. If you are not fussy about the aesthetics of a home, and are just there for the view, this home fits that.

Great place, but just as many pros and cons, which could be avoided.

The view and lay out is great, that's for sure. We would probably go there again if the management did a THOROUGH walk thru on a regular basis, making sure that the house is in SATISFACTORY working order and is hygienically cleaned for the next guest. They need to make sure that the cleaning crew did a thorough cleaning after every guest, that the doors can lock, that the appliances work, etc. The amenities are great on the surface, until one attempts to use them - Tv's in 3 rooms, only 1 worked. The dryer door held shut with electrical tape, that was not sticking at all, and there was no more tape around to use. The kitchen cabinets has greasy grime around handles from last few customer. Pots and pans were disgusting, but management did come right away with a new set. Faucets and showers were faulty, constantly running water. I can go on, but I don't have enough room. And with the price tag?? Tsk, tsk. This could all be avoided.

Quiet and cool in Cambria

We had a great relaxing stay in house just the right size for 6 of us. The Cambria weather was perfect in the 60s during our stay in July and a nice break from the heat. An sbundance of wildlife to see in the wuiet seaside town

Great vacation in beautiful Cambria

Loved every minute of our week-long stay. The house is very comfortable. Cleaning service should be sure to leave at least full box of tissues, rolls of TP and paper towels for guests, so they don’t have to go to grocery store right after checking in. Other than that, all was lovely!

We stayed for a long weekend at this house & we were happy with the choice, excellent location, excellent ocean views from Livingroom & balcony, comfortable beds, the smaller full size bed it's a bit too firm for my preference, but my teenager son wasn't bother by it. House is fully equipped with everything you might need to prepare meals. For families that preferred to cook. I loved that the house is very close within several minutes walkable distance to Fiscalini Ranch trails, we walked to the trails at least twice a day. I loved it!! we definitely will come back again!! We love Cambria overall.

Comfortable home with gorgeous ocean views

This house fit my family of 5 well (2 couples and one single person), with 2 rooms upstairs and one separate master suite downstairs in its own area, which worked out well for my daughter and her husband who like to sleep in late. The entire main living area looks out on the most amazing ocean views, it was a beautiful spot to hang out in. There was lots of room in the living room to all be together, play games, etc, as well in the dining room. The kitchen was well equipped, and fun to cook in since you had the great ocean views from there as well. We appreciated the close proximity to Fiscalini Ranch, where we walked every day. And all the beds were super comfortable, with all of us sleeping very well. My only issues were that, although the house seemed very clean, the walls were scuffed up and had other marks on them, giving a worn appearance to the place. Also the kitchen faucet leaked if you didn't move it a certain way, and the chairs on the back deck were worn with the material on the seat of one partially ripped. And the comforter on the bed in the smaller upstairs bedroom was all clumped, leaving large gaps in between with no down, so it wasn't warm at all. And lastly, there wasn't enough toilet paper!

Relax and Enjoy the View

The sunsets on each of our 4 days were magnificent. Each one different in the way nature intended. The home is very well appointed although the recliners offer their own challenge resetting. The beds are very comfortable in a firm sense. You may want to bring a pillow.

Cambria rental home

The house had everything we needed and it was located in a nice area. The views of sunsets were wonderful and you could hear the ocean and seals, especially at night. We stayed at an unusually warm time. A ceiling fan would have been wonderful in the living area. The bed downstairs was very low and not easy for a senior and the stairs to the living area seemed steep. Something to consider for seniors. Overall we enjoyed our experience here.

Relaxing and Beautiful

We love Cambria. Snug Harbor made our stay even better. Clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the Pacific. Deer, wild turkeys and quail were part of the neighborhood and plenty of places to walk around the neighborhood and in Fiscalini Ranch. The property had everything you need to prepare meals if you wanted and all the appliances were in good working order. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable. We enjoyed our time in Snug Harbor.

relaxing stay in Cambria

this rental worked well for my family and little dog. We loved being able to take dog walks down to the water, play on the rocks and watch the sunset from the boardwalk. Marine Terrace is a nice quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and well stocked. We were able to cook dinner several nights, and really enjoyed the fireplace when the fog rolled in.

Peaceful, pet friendly with stunning view

This charming home was the perfect place for our family to gather for games, walks at the Fisculini Preserve (only 2 minute walk from house) and toasting in the new year. The home is quite comfortable with room for the 5 of us to be together cooking or game playing - or for everyone to read or work on their own projects. Cambria is a beautiful, quiet town. We’ll be back to explore more of this part of the central coast!

wonderful, cozy home

we all (4 adults) were very comfortable at Snug Harbor... a wonderfully appointed and very nice home in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful ocean views. Cambria is a jewel of a town and surrounding areas offer many activities and entertainment. We were on the go every day, and then came "home" to cook, relax on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the sunset, then sleep wonderfully well to gear up for another day of FUN! A++
