Blackbird: a modern woodland escape

Welcome to Blackbird Cabin!  Enjoy a modern, well-appointed cabin in the heart of the RRG.  This newly built cabin sits fluidly with its surroundings, in the middle of the unique landscape that is the Red River Gorge.  The inside is crisp, clean and well-appointed for cooking and gathering with friends and family.

The outdoor space boasts many amenities including an outdoor shower, hot tub, bistro lights, smokeless firepit, hammock, charcoal grill and a 10ft accordion door to bring the outdoors in!

The space:

The Space is modern, well decorated, with high ceilings and original artwork.  It has two tidy queen bedrooms with twin trundle beds that pull out from underneath.  The living area is communal with a generously sized TV and an electric fireplace.  The dining area consists of seating for six with the option to open the exterior wall of doors to the outside!  The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook.  In the mornings enjoy three options for brewing coffee and in the evenings enjoy the bistro lighting on the back porch.

- 3 miles to Miguel's Pizza and the Natural Bridge State Park
- 4 miles to the scenic loop around the Gorge
- 6 miles to The Gorge Underground and Red River Rockhouse Restaurant

Other things to note:
To access the cabin, you will need to walk 60 feet uphill from the parking area.

This Cabin is newly constructed and some work is still actively being done to the exterior landscaping.  The Owner will not perform construction or labor while guests are occupying the cabin.

Although perched on a hillside, Blackbird is located high above the parkway.  You WILL hear road noise from the parkway.  In  the wintertime, the parkway is visible.  -- Amenities --

Kitchen-  The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, cutting boards, toaster, plates, and drinkware.  Potholders and kitchen towels are provided.  The tap water is safe to drink but there is also a water filter pitcher in the full sized fridge as well.  There is a bar with three bar-stools.

Living Room-  A couch and sitting area that overlooks the kitchen, television and electric fireplace.

Bedrooms-  There are two bedrooms each with a queen bed and a twin trundle bed.

Technology-  There is wifi!  There is a TV that can be used to stream any subscription services you may have (there is no cable television)

Parking-  There are two spots at the bottom of the driveway for parking.  The driveway is steep but a car with 4 wheel drive can park at the top.

Bathroom-  One full bathroom with a sliding glass door shower.

Additional Amenities-  A deck boasting a hot tub for 5 people and charcoal grill.  Central heating and air conditioning, clothing washer and dryer, sound machines, bluetooth speakers, a few classic board games and puzzles, locally relevant books, binoculars, outdoor shower, large accordion door leading outside, fire forks and a private fire pit.

We are happy to host pets at Blackbird and ask for an additional $50 (plus tax) non-refundable pet cleaning fee for the first pet.  Any additional pets are $25 (plus tax).

Linens are always provided for this cabin.  We will provide pillows, blankets, bedsheets and bath towels.  We will also provide kitchen towels, toilet paper, hand and dish soap.

Firewood is also available upon request.  For $25 we will deliver firewood to your fire pit.  Please be sure to mark on your reservation if you would like firewood delivery.  Please be sure to put out all fires COMPLETELY when you are finished.
