A 2 MINUTE WALK TO BOWEN'S WHARF IN HISTORIC NEWPORT! Enjoy the heart of beautiful Newport and all it has to offer with a stay at a vintage Newport home on Spring Street!

Unit 2 includes 2 bed rooms, a bathroom, a living room, & a fully functional kitchen. This unit can easily sleep 2 - 5. It was recently fully renovated in 2024! Brand new living room, kitchen, and bathroom.

I have another renovated unit in the house. Please inquire with me if you would like to rent.

Do NOT book between October-May! This owner does not list heat as an “amenity” and VRBO will back him up on this. Amazingly water and the roof are not listed as amenities, but they were there! We loved Newport and the area, but unfortunately Jack was very difficult to reach and when he did respond, he lied about the heat blaming it on the energy company. He clearly had no intention of providing it from the get go. The house was not properly cleaned with hair on the bathroom floor. Annoyingly the smoke detectors throughout the property(around 5) were beeping incessantly the first two days of the stay indicating a lack of regard for fire safety in addition to the flagrant lack of regard for Rhode Island heat laws. Owners in R.I. are required to maintain properties at 68 degrees from October-May, unless it’s through Vrbo!

The location was perfect. Walking distance to shops and the waterfront. However, there were quite a few things that were disappointing about the property and the pictures on the VRBO site were not accurate to the condo.1. Black mold in the AC's2. A mini college dorm fridge/no room for food/no ice and it leaked all over the floor. We had to put plates under it to prevent leaking.3. Outside patio in shown in the pictures was non existent. Only trash cans in an alley.4. Most of the outlets did not have plates to cover them.5. Realized after we got to the rental that carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were not confirmed by the owner and it was suggested to bring your own! I'm pretty sure that is illegal.I would not return.Gretchen

Great location but missing details

Overall, this was a good place to stay for a short weekend trip. It was in a great location for walking to most restaurants, shops, etc. The actual home was nice, but some details were lacking (door to main bedroom couldn’t shut, overhead light in bedroom didn’t work, multiple light switches missing covers, couldn’t adjust the temperature, no ice because no freezer). Jack was responsive up until check-in, and then he stopped replying. Luckily, there wasn’t anything urgent we needed, but it was still disappointing. A good choice for a prime location, but a few easy fixes would take this from good to great.

Cute house- horrible communication

House was cute and location was fantastic. Easy check in and check out process. Not so great communication with owner. The listing says it sleeps 5 so we booked it for 5. When we got there the cleaners were still there which wasn’t a big deal but they may have rushed to finish cause some parts were missed. I messaged the guy asking where the 5th person sleeps and he wasn’t responding so thank gosh I caught the cleaner and she showed us the mattress that had to be taken out from the closet and got us sheets from the upstairs locked door. If she wasn’t there we would have been without bedding for the weekend. The guy never responded to me all weekend about the 5th person. The second night the neighbor from downstairs came up saying brown water was leaking on her baby bed. So I messaged the guy again to tell him that and he actually responded right away, and just said he will talk to them and that the listing is for 4 people.. when it was for 5. So he definitely saw my messages all weekend just chose to ignore them. l

A Great Spot

The location was so good. Easy walk to restaurants and things to see and do. Parking was a challenge and definitely worth going over to park on Kay St. It is free and easy to use. A microwave in the kitchen might have been nice.

Great location, inaccurate listing

I've stayed on the first floor many times which was fine, so tried the second floor. - Pros: Great location downtown, newly renovated. - Cons: Unresponsive host, inaccurate pictures -- no pull out couch in the living room (the 'cot' was part of a broken couch that was hidden away in the closet and had dangerously exposed metal, with no extra sheets, no extra bedding), mini fridge only (no freezer, meaning no ice), Keurig machine but no coffee, no dishwasher soap, smoke detectors were not installed, sliding bathroom door does not stay closed, shower does not drain, no parking spot

Host cancelled us day of

We paid for our trip 5 months in advance. We got a confirmation email, etc. we even got a confirmation email the week of our trip. I contacted the host the morning of our trip and asked about how we get into the building. He responded back saying VRBO double booked us and he has no availability. That’s all. No solution. Turns out HE double booked the house. Then I spent 5 hours on the phone with VRBO trying to find a new place. This host wouldn’t answer a single phone call or message regarding this mixup. Do not book!!!

Anniversary celebration

House was great. Charming. Would have liked a heads-up on the parking situation. Cost $30 per day in a lot 3 blocks away. Also, we brought ground coffee, only to find out there was only a Keurig machine. Really? Details are very important in your listing.

We stayed for a wedding weekend! Great location! Easy Walk everywhere! We had two families of 5 and rented the first floor and second floor. The first floor has been recently renovated which was nice. The second floor needs a renovation. It was fine for what we needed.

This place is a mere blocks away from all the restaurants and shops! Fantastic, updated condo! Will definitely stay again next time I’m on the East Coast.

Our stay was not as expected. The photos on the site are not accurate. We booked based on the photos and were placed in an upstairs apartment. One room had twin beds, the bathroom was not renovated and when you used the toilet or sink the tub started to fill with water. The tub backed up with water when you showered. We called the owner and he never responded. The apartment was clean but not air conditioned. The bedrooms had window air conditioners that were very loud. Just be aware that what you see may not be what you get.

Great location

We had a wonderful weekend at this charming Newport home celebrating our friends wedding. The prime downtown location made the weekend stress-free and more enjoyable to not have to worry about transportation. The owner was responsive and the home was well equipped.

Perfect location

I rented two apartments in this house for a girls trip Halloween weekend. We had the best time. Everything about this property was perfect. The owner was so easy to communicate with. Getting in when we got there was simple and the location of this property was near everything. We could walk everywhere. I’d rent again in a second. Newport is gorgeous. I highly recommend.

Amazing location

The location of this property was amazing. There is plenty of space and overall a great stay if you’re in the Newport area. Parking on the street is listed as 2 hour parking but this did not prove to be an issue overnight, at least in my case. Very thankful to Jack and would definitely come back again!
