With the dining table adjacent to the full kitchen and breakfast bar, the whole family can reminisce as the chef of the group whips up tasty recipes on all of the appliances of home. Plus, the pups won't have to stay home on this vacation, as this getaway is dog-friendly for a small nightly fee.

What's nearby:
Perched on the blue water of Indian Bay, this getaway is a half-mile from the main drag of the island, so heading out for a bite to eat or grabbing a few groceries is a breeze. When you want a bit more adventure, schedule a fishing charter, head down to Dauphin Beach (two miles south), or check out The Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab on the east side of the island. The whole gang will also love taking the ferry over to Fort Morgan to sightsee!

Dock details: Located just outside the home. It will be shared with any Guests that rent out the other duplex. No gate, no code or key is needed to enjoy the dock.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

While the location is excellent, the property is just okay. All the furniture and finishes are very old, and some things actually broken (one of the recliner arms). And the entrance door was very difficult to open, close, luck & unlock. We appreciated the spot but probably wouldn't stay again. Additionally, when we were packing up to leave, the cleaners were sitting in the driveway waiting.(This was 45 minutes before check out time). That was very awkward.

RENTER BEWARE Slum Dump Rental

This rental is completely run-down and dirty and smells of urine and mold. It has not been properly maintained or cleaned. The pictures have been edited and are not representative of what the house really looks like. Broken broken window on the porch, The paint on the walls is peeling in the main room and hallway. The refrigerator is rusted and the ice maker barely works. The kitchen is filthy and hasn’t been deep cleaned in years if ever and the cabinets are covered with old petrified food and drink. One of the cabinet doors is falling off the hinges. The ceiling stucco is falling in over the dining table. Pieces of the ceiling over the table kept falling during our trip and a piece fell on my husband while he was eating breakfast this morning we left. In addition to being dirty, the kitchen was not equipped with enough dishes for 6 people. We had to take turns using bowls. There are no sharp knives and a dull knife sharpener that needs to be thrown out. There was only one kitchen dish rag and no broom. The night we arrived I had to go buy a can opener, cleaning supplies, rags and cooking knives that cut because there were none. The tub is absolutely disgusting and looks like it has never been deep cleaned… ever. The drain is also clogged and very slow to empty adding to the grossness. The “bath mat” was so nasty I didn’t want to touch it. I put it in a garbage bag for the duration of our trip and left in the bathroom when we check out. It has obviously never been washed and looks like it was dragged in from the parking lot. The A/C filter door looked like it had a fur coat. I opened it and an inch of thick matted hair dirt and grime that was nauseating. The bedroom with the king bed has a strong smell of urine and a poorly patched hole in the door. There are holes and what appear to be blood stains on the bed spread. I don’t believe any of the bed covers have ever been washed. The internet only works intermittently. There is no dedicated Wi-Fi router for this unit so technically it does not have internet. This unit has to connect to a router on the other side of this duplex. It is inaccessible from the side we rented. We had to knock on the door of the unit next door and ask the renters to reset the router multiple times. We gave up and had to make business zoom calls using data and use our phones as hotspots because the internet constantly blinked out. If I had known the truth about this rental I would absolutely never booked it.

Location was good. House was just ok. Deck dated and did not feel completely secure. The layer of dust on fan vent and ac vent was gross. There wasn’t a sharp knife in the place. Fridge was rusty on front and froze dairy products. Neighbors were very nice. Popcorn ceiling was missing large chucks in dining room and was still falling off.

Good if nobody is in the adjoining apartment

This house is in a good spot with really nice neighbors. Needs a couple of cosmetic repairs but nothing big. Fishing off the little dock at the house was fun. There was only one real problem; there’s a door in the living room connecting the two duplex apartments that does absolutely nothing to stop sound. Great place to stay if nobody is staying in the other apartment or if you rent them both. We went on spring break and had a hard time finding a place to eat on the island that was open. Hopefully, that’s not a problem for people during the summer.

Needs some love.

The property has not been maintained very well, the yard had weeds and sand spurs. Under the house the concrete had not been cleaned in a while stones everywhere. The deck upstairs was so dirty after walking on it our feet where black. The kitchen did not have a bottle opener and the can opener did not work. The area was very nice and quite.
