This cosy duplex apartment, in central Catania, makes an ideal base to discover one of Italy’s most exciting cities. On the ground floor, the apartment sleeps 3 people and is ideal for a couple or friends who want an action-packed city break.

The front door opens from a courtyard into the living area, via 4 steps. The room is furnished with attractive modern pieces. There is a sofa, Smart TV, dining table and open-plan kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with a cooker hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a coffee machine.

Outside the front door there is a café-style table and chairs where guests can enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine al fresco.

Location
This duplex apartment is in the heart of Catania, a city steeped in history. The apartment is just an 11-minute walk from the ancient Roman amphitheatre and a 20-minute walk from the Piazza del Duomo. The Duomo di Catania is a majestic Norman cathedral, and hidden behind it you will find the daily fish market for the freshest local catch, plus good vegetables, fruit and meats.

The city is well-known for its delicious food with many local restaurants serving Sicilian specialities and wonderful seafood. Unique to Catania are the “cioscu”, little kiosks all over the city serving refreshments in the hot summer months. The most famous are in the Piazza Umberto (7 minutes walk).

If you need to get out of the city for a day, the Park of Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, (1 hour drive) offers excellent hiking all year round, including hikes up to the peak of the volcano. Or head to the beach and La Playa di Catania (15 minute drive). This long, wide sandy beach has beach clubs, snack bars, a water park for children and clear, blue sea.

Catania’s international airport, Catania-Fontanarossa is just a 20-minute drive from the apartment, and Catania\'s main railway station, Catania Centrale is less than 15 minutes walk or a 5 minute drive.
