Although there is no running water the host was very friendly and accomodate for us and always made sure we had what we needed. On the other hand, it is very tattered, dated, rickety and an electrical nightmare. Extension cords and hidden switches everywhere and very dimly lit. Floors covered with throw rugs that all overlap; the walls and ceilings covered with fabric that has been stapled on. And, used toilet paper cannot be flushed down the toilet. «Such a great location. Close to everything and quiet which was exactly what we were looking for! Host was wonderfully accommodating which we really appreciated! Only very very minor complaints were the water didn’t get hot enough to utilize the bath, (I like scalding hot baths!) and the internet was in and out a bit. Everything else was amazing! Der Preis ist allerdings trotzdem sehr hoch. Der Check in ist relativ spät, das Check in Fenster zwischen 16:00 Uhr und 18:00 Uhr. Eher kurz. Leider hat bei uns der Mülleimer sehr starke nach Aschenbecher gestunken, dieser Geruch hat sich leider Tage gehalten. Zumindest immer dann wenn man die Schublade zur Mülltonne öffnete. «The houseboat meets or exceeds expectations from photos and descriptions. It is very well appointed with great amenities and in a great location. Robertino, the host, is very communicative and welcoming, and also a great source for recommendations in the area. We have stayed in Amsterdam before but have never experienced it like this and would highly recommend. It is a destination in itself.»

«Süßes kleines Hausboot - wir waren zu dritt dort - mehr wäre dann evtl. anstrengend. Die Beschreibung und Ankunft war perfekt beschrieben, so dass wir gleich die Schlüssel gefunden haben. Der Ort Monnickendam ist sehr süß und wir haben in einem abgesperrten Hafenbereich gelegen, von da aus konnte man alles zu Fuß erreichen. Die Bushaltestelle ist fast vor der Haustür (an der Hauptstraße) und ein Bus fährt alle 6 Minuten nach Amsterdam Centraal - die Fahrt dauert ca. 20 Minuten.»

«We have mixed feeling about this stay. The hotel is modern, both the rooms and the kitchen/reception area is super nice, cozy styled and furnished! However our room was not proper cleaned. We gave information about this to the staff who promised to fix this by the next day. In total we had to report three times about this problem before anything was done.
