«I never got any instructions from the host about checking in or the lockbox code, or how to find the place--we arrived in the dark and the winding gravel road leading up the rental was pitch black and the black numbers on the mailbox weren't visible from the street. We called the host to get the lockbox code; it took 12 attempts to get it open. The check in process was seamless and the host was generous enough to let us come 3 hours early prior to the scheduled 4 PM check in time as our flight arrived early and we have nowhere to put our bags.
