Our stay at Ventus El Cid had several frustrations that made the experience disappointing overall.
For the first 5/7 nights we couldn’t get dinner reservations at all, and after that the only times available were around 9:00 PM, which is very late when traveling with kids. Even when using the buffet, there were long lines 45 min or more every evening.
We were placed in a room right next to construction, and the noise woke the kids multiple mornings. Room upgrades were available, but only for an additional $60 per night, which felt excessive given the circumstances.
The resort advertises 50% discounts on activities when booking through Expedia, but these discounts were not consistently honored — for example with spa massages $379USD. Laundry services were also very expensive; washing just 2 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters cost about $50.
Internet access was limited to 2 devices per room even we were 4 , and you must pay extra per device per day. The internet also cuts off immediately at checkout time, which felt unnecessary. Late checkout is charged, and even after paying for it, our door cards stopped working at noon and had to be reactivated.
Another surprise was that “all-inclusive” guests are not allowed in the executive member pools or certain areas, which wasn’t made clear beforehand.
Overall, the resort has potential, but the extra fees, and inconvenience around dining and room issues made the stay more stressful than relaxing.
