The Royalton Splash was just great. The entire place is beautiful, clean, well maintained and has so many options for things to do, places to eat, you will never get bored. There are several very nice restaurants and also a buffet that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has to be the largest buffet I have every been to. And it serves a huge variety of foods including typical American foods, as well as Mexican. The Royalton spa and fitness center are both outstanding, We used both and were not disappointed at all (try a couples massage followed by hydrotherapy). There are so many pools.....one area caters to families and another to those traveling without kids. Heres a tip...you must book reservations at the good restaurants 2 days in advance (that means be ready at 12:01 am to get a reservation). And "Diamond Club" members can book earlier than that so they get priority. If you book the stay through Expedia you get a few extra perks. My one complaint is that they only serve Dos Equis and Heineken beer. For a beer drinker that got old pretty fast. There are some good Mexican craft brewery's, you would think they might have a few of them to offer. All in all a nice trip.

Airport transportation was not included, and we had to pay $40 per person for transfer. The resort was also not truly all-inclusive as advertised—access to a large portion of the hotel required an extra fee for the Diamond Club, which made us feel excluded and not valued as guests. We traveled as three couples and one child, and room allocation was handled very poorly. One couple had paid for an ocean-view room but received a lower-class ocean view, while another couple who paid for no upgrade received a higher-class ocean-view room. The third couple was placed in a very low-level room. Overall, guests were not treated based on what they paid for. We repeatedly requested (over four times) to be placed closer together, but despite nine buildings, we were assigned extremely far apart (Buildings 2 and 9), requiring a 15-minute walk to see each other. The room in Building 12 (also referred to as Building 2) had a constant bad smell due to a creek behind the building. Food was often cold and overall not enjoyable. Most activities were focused on children, with very limited options for adults. The sea was full of seaweed and not pleasant for swimming. Water quality was a major issue—the water had a strong smell and salty taste, affecting all drinks and coffee. No bottled water was available in restaurants, making it difficult to drink anything unless brought from the room. A request for toothpaste was also never fulfilled.

Initially we were very impressed with this resort - blown away in fact by the views and so excited to explore the waterpark and all the things for children. Our service upon arrival was also attentive and friendly. Buffet was over the top - very american, great for picky toddlers, tasty, tons of options, no empty trays. We also loved the use of the app which streamlined restaurant booking in an efficient and fair way. Unfortunately our positive opinion quickly changed after a couple of days. Ultimately this resort has a capacity that is just too large and we didn't feel the staff could keep up. Pools were crowded, you had to search for a chair, bar line ups were long, pool-side wait staff were limited, garbage on the lawn, dirty elevators, etc. This was proven even more come time to check out. We couldn't get through to guest services to help bring our suitcases down to the lobby and at least 100 other people were checking out and leaving the resort at the same time as us. One check out line, an overcrowded and disorganized taxi system and concierge staff that were equally as disorganized and rude. Our exit of this resort was extremely unpleasant, leaving me in tears in the cab with two children under 2, 6 suitcases and 45 mins late for our departure to the airport. We would have loved to love this resort but we will never return. To top it off, both my children developed hand foot and mouth the day after our return home.

The splash pad - so fun! Slides are only for kids aged 4+ and no riding with parents.

Terrible check-in and checkout process. Over 2 hours for both. Perhaps Expedia should move their checkin desk to the entrance; not 15 mins from drop off. If you have food allergies, staff do not care. Housekeeping needs- expect a 2 hour wait. Booking with nexus on your transfer home? Expect them to ask if randos can jump into your private and previously paid shuttle.

The hotel was large and had good facilities overall. It offered several nice swimming pools, a water park, and a lazy river, which were great, especially for families. There were also good bars and a variety of restaurants. Some restaurants were very good, while others were disappointing. The best restaurant by far was Rio, and our favorite bar was the Beach Sand Bar. One of the biggest downsides of the hotel was that at night, when we opened the balcony door, there was a very bad smell coming from outside on most nights, which was quite unpleasant, Another surprising issue for me was that the rooms did not include basic amenities such as a toothbrush and toothpaste. When I asked the front desk, they told me that I had to buy them from the hotel shop, where both items were priced much higher than normal.

The room was great. The kids loved the infinity pools, sand volleyball, water park and the lazy river! Food was great with plenty of options at the buffet for the kids.

This hotel is very well-maintained, clean and everything is in working order. The staff are friendly and gracious, the amenities are great for kids. Lots of food & drink options between the 24hr cafe, a sports bar, food carts, pool side snack bar, buffet, restaurants, ice cream parlor, and bars. Unfortunately, the food at the buffet was pretty cold at times. Some foods were clearly overcooked or maybe even cooked twice. Lounge chairs were hard to come by because there's no reinforcement of the no-reservation policy. This caused us a lot of anxiety and likely ruined more than one family's vacation. Guests rarely police their own entitlement in these situations. We wanted to rent a bali bed, but were met with so many barriers we gave up--staff were more interested in pushing their Prime exclusive membership on us. On top of that, we were inundated with suspicious emails and WhatsApp messages from companies trying to sell us real estate, services and excursions, in some cases using scare tactics to keep our hotel reservation. I have suspicions about the resort's data privacy rules and who they are selling our info to. They had a lovely Mexican-themed evening that had a little marketplace, music, food, and shows. Unfortunately, the luchador fight was cancelled. All this said, an all-inclusive in Mexico is still an amazing experience. It's a great resort for kids, but I'm not sure we'll be back.

I am very disappointed with my recent stay at Royalton splash all inclusive resort. I booked through Expedia and was directed to a separate check-in located at the far end of the resort. The agent provided almost no information about the resort, amenities, or benefits. I was told to use the app, given a small brochure, and not even shown where my room was located. While the food overall was good however I suffered a severe food poisoning after dining at the Japanese restaurant. It ruined an entire day of my vacation and I was concerned that I might need medical attention. Another major issue was the lack of available sunbeds at both the pool and the beach throughout my stay. The free sunbeds included in an all-inclusive package were extremely limited, while paid cabanas cost $90. If you did not reserve a spot before 7:30 a.m., there was nothing available. On my last day, staff members even moved my towels and gave my spot to another couple. Guest Services did not resolve the issue and left me waiting, which ultimately forced me to pay for a cabana just to have somewhere to sit. I paid for an all-inclusive beach vacation and expected basic amenities to be available without additional charges. Unfortunately, this was not the all inclusive experience I received and I was not treated as a valued customer!

Lack in providing basic services. No proper room cleaning, no refilling of bathroom liquids. No mopping the floors. Lobby is a mess where i find all half eating plates and at night you will see familys of racoon hanging in your lobby.. Total disasters. No recommending to anyone or not even xoming back.

Our stay at Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun was outstanding from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, the resort impressed us with its beautiful design, modern atmosphere, and excellent upkeep. Our room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after full days of activities. The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Every team member we encountered was warm, professional, and attentive, always going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Their friendliness and willingness to help really elevated our stay. One of the biggest highlights was the daily buffet. The variety was impressive, with fresh, flavorful options available every day and something for everyone to enjoy. The quality, presentation, and consistency of the food stood out, and it was clear that care was taken to keep everything clean, organized, and well stocked. It made dining convenient, enjoyable, and something we looked forward to each day. The resort amenities were also top-notch, from the pools and water park to the overall dining and entertainment options. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully designed to create a fun yet relaxing atmosphere. Overall, our experience was memorable and exceeded expectations. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun to anyone looking for an excellent all-inclusive getaway.

This was my second stay at this resort. I visited in September 2024 and had a great experience, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, this trip was very disappointing.I paid extra for a Luxury Junior Suite Ocean Front Swim Out – Diamond Club, but at check-in I was given the wrong room type in Building 19 with a completely different view. After checking in, I was told my correct room would not be available until the next day.I was traveling with an infant and a 2-year-old, and the situation caused a lot of stress and wasted time. The next day, I was asked to check out at 12 PM and wait several hours without a room, which is not reasonable with small children. After multiple requests and discussions with staff and management, the correct room was finally provided at 1:30 PM.This experience involved too much back-and-forth, poor room management, and lack of consideration for families, especially after paying extra for a specific room type. Very disappointing compared to my first stay.

We paid extra for a luxurious king bed + sofa room ocean facing , but received - A double bed regular ocean facing room . The room shower pit had mold . There is weird smell in the room 13-401 which was horrible and wnt go away! Did we ask for the room to get changed no! As we were very tired in the check in process with Expedia . Overall for the room allocation, room smell/mold - I have 1 star Royalton Splash - Amenities and Activities for the kids - 5 star ! It was excellent and the best! Royalton room service - we had used room service for 3-4 times and the staff were good - 4 star Royalton room cleaning service - very good and humble! 5 star Expedia - horrible check in process - waited for almost 45 mins, when we were already tired walking to that place ! They do not have a counter at the entrance so ya you walk to them and wait until they are free to get u the room tags. 1 star for Expedia checkin Expedia checkout - even after checking out the hotel, they need all the people in your group to be there to checkout! This is the first time we had to ever go to a counter to checkout. And so ya we had to make multiple trips walking back n forth with our luggage as we did not know it .the lady did not tell us, we absolutely need a checked out paper tag for checkout. Anyway we checkout- 1 star for Expedia checkout process We had a very big issue as we had booked the cab with a another family and Expedia / Royalton / Nexus cabs- all do not have a way to communicat
