«We plannes to stay in NY for 11 days. Manhattan was expensive. The apartment in Bedstuy looked fine, but we had heard that the area was "sketchy" (lonely planet). Stay away from Bedstauy! said a New-yorker. Don't used the Subway in the evenings! I was a bit sceptical, but now we have tried Bedstuy and "La maison des sirene". We felt safe all the time. It is located super conveniently to three different train lines and a whole host of bars, bodegas, and restaurants which for a 9-day stay, was a great perk. I also appreciated having access to a full kitchen with supplies to save a little from eating out constantly. «This room provided basic essentials for my family to visit NYC. There is a small kitchenette with stove burners, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and a few kitchen utensils. There is a bathroom, a kitchen table, one bed, and one pull-out futon. The side street location was quieter than the main streets located just a minute or two away.
