Our stay was unfortunately impacted by several service issues. Upon arriving early, we asked the front desk to hold our bags and were asked to add the names of the other two guests, which we did. We spent time at the beach then we returned at check-in time, and a different receptionist again asked about adding names but confirmed that all three guests were listed. Despite this, the following day one of us was denied a replacement room key because staff claimed the name was not on the reservation.
We also experienced issues with the hotel’s house car service, which is advertised as first come, first served. Although we were the only guests waiting for about 10 minutes, another guest who arrived after us was allowed to take the car. Staff stated they could not ask the other guest to exit, causing us to miss the service and pay for an Uber while running late for reservations.
Housekeeping was another concern. We returned from the pool to change and get ready for dinner. We asked to enter the room and the lady closed the door on us. We tried entering again and she continued cleaning as we were getting ready. The next morning, despite having the “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed, housekeeping repeatedly knocked loudly insisting on cleaning.
We reported these concerns to a supervisor, as the manager was unavailable, and were only offered a breakfast credit. This stay was meant to celebrate my birthday and graduation, but the experience was stressful and disappointing.
