Not as advertised and quite disappointed

We are frequent VRBO users but this property just did not cut it. We dont like to be difficult or anything, but we do need to talk about the state of the property. It is absolutely not like the pics. The dresser and other furniture is all old and rickety. The mirror in the main bedroom was slanted and could fall and break. The door handle to the main bedroom was broken/chipped and could cut a hand (my husband almost cut his) . The second bathroom shower pan is loose and comes up when stepped on and is an injury hazard for my kids, not to add that its door is hidden behind the door to the main living room so one cant access the bathroom if the other door is open (a little inconvenient but still). The bedroom floor for my kids room had a wooden transition that comes up and could injure or cut a foot. Half the lights in the hallway did not work. The main door is super creaky . The heaters are all rusted and again pose a hazard. The floors also were not clean when we came in.The paint is chipping off almost everything which gives the look of a property that is not maintained.The main room sliding doors to the balcony were stuck so i cant go out on the balcony. The key pick up is a km away from the property, again not convenient. When we mentioned this to the property manager the response was that they would tell the owner but nothing else. The location was pretty good and i give them that, but for the amount we paid it was not up to par at all.

Great location with some opportunities

We only stayed 1 night (planned) and let me just say the location is great and convenient to walk to pretty much everything! However, while the unit was clean there was a lot of dust on light fixtures, on top of mirrors, etc. The AC did not work in 2/3 bedrooms but we were able to utilize the living area AC to cool the unit. The mattresses were hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable. The washer and dryer was difficult to operate and despite utilizing the dryer settings, my clothes were still very wet even though the unit was only filled half way.

The photos that were advertised were completely deceiving.

The photographs in the advertisement were completely deceiving. The beds were very uncomfortable, the furniture was worn but the worst part was the bathrooms. The guest bathroom was in a closet and the master bathroom was also in a converted closet. Very disappointing experience. I would definitely not recommend.

my stay here

1 bedroom two twins no private bath second room also twins no private so both of these rooms share one bathroom that not only is super small but the shower is with the toilet and inside a closet which is crazy. the master bedroom sheets had stains and when we entered premises the ac was off and no fans. once you turn the air keep them on with doors shut and windows closed to keep cold air in. the floor is very antique and looks dirty. one of the irons stained my clothe because it had something burned on it. the locations was great but for rhe price i think we should have better ammenities.

Borderline Scam

The five star reviews for this property have to be utterly fraudulent. I encourage any prospective renter to search for "Myspace Barcelona" for reviews. They use VRBO to hook you by using pictures that aren't even of the actual apartment you stay in, though similar furniture is used but it's definitely not the unit we were in. Then once the time for your initial deposit to be refundable passes they tell you where the apartment actually is - in this case it was Ramblas de Catalunya 67 - which is a wonderful location from a centrality perspective, but we wouldn't have booked had we seen it faced the busiest street in the busiest part of Barcelona. It was so loud it was impossible to sleep - modern Spanish apartments have windows and/or Persian blinds that block the noise - this is not one of them. The beds are more akin to cots - what was described as a "king" bed in the listing was two single cots stuck together. When we got into the unit the freezer had been left open so long that there was a huge block of frost so the door couldn't close rendering the freezer unusable. One of the toilet bowl seats was broken at one of the hinges - not the end of the world, but annoying when you are paying so much a night after all the added fees. For three adults and two kids there were 3 mugs and 3 water glasses. The one thing they did have tons of were wine glasses with around 8 or so. I also never would have signed up for this place had I known the check-in was not anywhere near the unit itself. Thankfully because we have friends living in Barcelona that didn't create an issue for us as they drove us and held our bags, but without someone helping it would have been a real issue. Check-in time was 3. We called at 2 and said we knew. it was a little early but were wondering if it we could grab the keys early or did that create any issues. They said there was no problem since they were in the office and to come by anytime. So at 2:20 we got the keys - unbeknownst and not disclosed to us was that they were tacking a 40 euro "early" check-in fee - presumably when we called and they said "No hay ningun problema" they could have said it'll cost 40 euro, or when they were sliding my credit card they could have told me and I would have said no thanks and waited. I didn't realize it had happened until I noticed they charged me an unusually high tourist tax, which was explained as being high because it included a 40 euro early check in fee not on the receipt.

Week in Barcelona

Very nice property. Well located and central to all areas of interest. We had an issue with the air conditioning but was resolved within a day. Very nice stay overall and would return in the future.

Disappointing check in process - 15 mins taxi away from apartment!

A number of things went wrong. 1. Check in process is 15 taxi ride from apartment, 2. Apartment was not ready at scheduled time (due to ''extra cleaning'' apparently.) 3. Deposit, after 3 weeks, still has not been refunded. 4. Apartment is listed as 2 bathrooms, but 1 was the size of a cupboard. (apartment really should be 2 bedroom, not 3.) Luckily the location is great, but the service via Myspace Barcelona was appalling. Will not use again and would recommend people stay away.

Location great

Location is great, apartment is clean, bedrooms are nice. Things i didn't like was the check in process we had to go to the office to pick up the keys. Also the second bathroom seems like a converted closet so it is very small. Also the elevator wasnt working but nothing anyone can really do about that. Overall the convenient location and cleanliness is worth the concessions.

Heart of the City Center

We were very impressed with this apartment. The check-in is a little awkward as you have to go to their office first, and then to the apartment, so if you have luggage that's a bit challenging (and costs more to get the ride in between), but the process was pretty smooth. This flat is right in the middle of the city center, just a few blocks from Las Ramblas, two different Gaudi buildings, and a host of other sights and attractions. The promenade outside is full of restaurants and shops. Be advised, it is in the city, so it is NOT quiet. It could get quite noisy with people and cars and such going past, but that's what you get for being downtown. As for the apartment itself, it was very clean - and maybe since it was last reviewed the policy has changed, but we found bath supplies, cleaning supplies in the kitchen, and a gift bag with additional toiletries and other stuff in each of the bathrooms - a very nice touch. The A/C worked great so that was a big help after a hot day walking around. The only real negative was the 2nd bathroom was a difficult configuration to use since the shower is not separate from the toilet or sink so everything gets a bit wet. But overall we were very happy and would stay again.

Beware- pictures are deceptive, property is filthy

I booked this stay for my family with the intention on staying 4 nights. We ended up staying 20 minutes. The pictures looked great and the reviews appeared to be awesome. It turns out some of the reviews are fake and if you research My space Barcelona you will find many reviews explaining a scam. The flat was not at all as pictured on homeaway, instead it was dirty, the bedding was not as pictured, and the main bathroom had a piece of plastic on the floor that was unsteady and unsafe. The flat smelled like sewage. Check in is at a different location 10 minutes away and the flat is difficult to find upon arrival in the building. The only thing that is accurate is the location. I would highly recommend finding a different rental for your stay, if you choose this one you will be disappointed.

Mixed Bag

We spent 4 nights in this apartment in late December 2018. On the plus side, the apartment is accurately pictured, it is large, and in a very convenient location. We had several good meals within 1/2 block of the apartment. We were not pleased with the all night street noise levels - there is traffic noise, people noise, trash collection, and incessant motor scooter activity. Because the apartment is on the 2nd floor, it was disrupting to us and we are not light sleepers. The bed in the master is stiff and needs to be replaced and the master bath had a medium strength sewage smell. Finally, I had to follow-up twice for our 7 day security deposit refund when we returned to the USA - in sum, the refund occurred on January 17th when we checked out on 12/30 and only after I followed-up.

Great apartment in great location

We rented this apartment for a week in Barcelona and it couldn’t have been better. The place is clean, sleeps 6 and has everything you need for a great vacation. It’s located centrally to all the attractions and the people who rent it are very friendly and helpful.

Great floor plan, clean, fun location!

Loved the living room with large open windows. Ricardo was very responsive and helpful. The apartment was very clean and had nice amenities. Location was near all the top five spots to see in Lisbon. Apartment is noisy due to trafffic, but should be expected due to being a bustling city. Just bring your earplugs, and all wil l be solved. Great apartment!

very nice and very clean

very spacious, very clean, very nice, location perfect, nice lift/elevator. 2 bedrooms door knobs came off. the 2nd bathroom was in a 'closet' size everything got wet, toilet and sink. not enough warm blankets. could not turn on heaters when needed and could not turn off AC when needed.

Size & Location are Excellent

Located on the Rambla Catalunya promenade, a wide variety of restaurants, bakeries and super markets were right outside of the apartment. The master bedroom and bathroom were both good sized. The spare bedrooms were a bit small for two adults and one bedroom did not have an air-conditioning unit. The bathroom for these two bedrooms was also very small. Although I highly recommend this apartment. There are three (3) things to be aware of. Check-in is done in an office located in Prats de Mollo Street, no.14, approx. 4 k from the apartment. Not walkable from where the airport bus drops off. You will need to take a taxi at cost of $13 euro each way. Easy getting a cab going there from Placa de Catalunya. Not so easy getting a cab going the other way, so the check-in associate called us a taxi which arrived promptly. Also good to know - the apartment is labeled 2b; however this is actually the 4th floor of the building. There are two entry doors in this floor's hallway. The door is to the left as you get off the elevator and is not marked. Once inside the entry door, you are inside a vestibule with another two doors. This apartment's door is on the right. There are three keys provided when you check-in. The silver skeleton key gets you into the building. The other silver flat key gets you into the vestibule. The black skeleton key gets you into the apartment. The last thing to know - do not use both showers at the same time. Water will accumulate on the kitchen floor the dishwasher. It appears both showers drain to a pipe that will overflow inside the wall, and leak out under the wall. Don't let these items prevent you from renting this apartment, but knowing these details will make it easier to navigate your entrance to the apartment and enhance your stay.

Grand appartement tout confort, situé dans l’un des meilleurs quartiers de Barcelone. Attention toutefois, le quartier est assez bruyant. Ceci mis à part, cet appartement est parfait !
