Mas Vives tops the chart

First of all, the house and property are exactly as appears in the photos. Everything was fantastic. And to top it off, our host Gemma along with Manel and Ariadna were incredible. They were so helpful with arranging transportation, helping with dinner reservations, and anything else they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. It made it just like home. It was all we could have wished for.

Incredible Stay at an Incredible Property!!

Wow! We are already telling all of our friends and family that they need to go and stay at this property! It was a dream. My family of 15 stayed at Mas Vives and we couldn't be more pleased with the property or the hosts. Ariadna met us upon arrival and she greeted us with hot coffee and snacks. We were blown away at the hospitality.

Super place to stay

Beautiful Villa perfect fusion of old and new in a great location lots of lovely restaurants around and close to the train station about 2 km which enable you to get up and down the coast and go to Barcelona for the day. Great for Oh large groups the villa has everything you may wish for and is well stocked. The owner popped in once or twice and seemed lovely and lives close by which is nice to know in case it would be needed. Would highly recommend renting this villa

Amy’s love on Tour

This was the absolute perfect property to host my cousins hen do! The place is absolutely beautiful and despite the weather we managed to enjoy all of the facilities. The hosts were incredible and available whenever we needed them! So generous and kind. Once we had got our heads round it, Barcelona was easily accessible by a 25 minute walk to the train station and then into Barcelona. I’m sure the bus would have been even easier! The surrounding towns also had some lovely restaurants and shops. Thank you so much for the perfect property for the hen party of dreams for my cousin!

Perfection

Scroll no further — this property is perfect! The villa itself, rooms, and grounds are beautiful. The location is private but with easy walks to restaurants and public transportation. There is ample parking and it’s an easy drive into Barcelona. The absolute best part, however, are the wonderful hosts: friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. We had 3 generations aged 70 to 1 and everyone raved about their stay ♥️

AMAZING HOSTS & PROPERTY

The villa is amazing and its history is even better. I booked the villa for our small intimate wedding. Gemma, our host and the owner, helped answer any questions I had (and I had a lot) and was very helpful providing her local expertise. My family and friends were equally as amazed! It is very spacious and our group had plenty of spaces to connect together. Mas Vives will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you Gemma!!! <3

Amazing property

Mas Vives is going to be a place that will be special to us for life. We got married in front of the centuries old chapel and could not have thought of a better setting. They have everything for a small wedding party. Gemma has been very responsive and helpful. She is very welcoming and helped us with logistics for the wedding. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Of note, only 2 rooms have AC and the rest have ceiling fans. I believe they are planning to place AC in every room. The pool was a great addition. It was clean and great place for a refreshing dip. The property is a short taxi ride to the beach and restaurants by the beach. Gemma recommended Victor, the Chef, who made us tapas dinner on arrival, brunch and dinner for the wedding. I cannot recommend Victor enough. The food was absolutely amazing. The property is safe and quiet, away from the city noise and a great place to relax. It has everything you need in the kitchen. WiFi was fast. Easy to get a taxi to go anywhere.

WOW!

This beautiful villa along with the hosts Gemma and Eva was simply amazing. Gemma was a great resource leading up to our stay, with answers to questions regarding local restaurants, grocery stores, train schedules to Barcelona etc. Eva met with us upon our arrival, and gave a tour of the property. She too provided additional local information, and even drove me to the train station the following day to purchase train tickets. Check in and check out was a snap. The villa was as described in the listing, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The main level had lots of room to spread out and a large well supplied kitchen for cooking. Five bedrooms are on the second floor, each with access to a large balcony with views of the surrounding area. The master has a bathroom en-suite, while the remaining four share two bathrooms. There is also a large bedroom on the third floor that has a queen size bed, along with three or four singles. The beds were very comfortable, and the quiet neighborhood allowed for a peaceful nights sleep. The villa location was perfect, given our plans to see other sites in addition to Barcelona. We had rental cars and spent half of the vacation exploring Costa Brava as far north as Cadaqués, with the other half visiting the sights of Barcelona. All in our group had a wonderful time in Spain and found this villa to be the highlight of the trip. Thanks again to Gemma and Eva for your wonderful hospitality!

A scene from a postcard

This home and our hosts could not have been better. The home is a magical place to unwind or to launch your day trips from and Cabrils and Villisar are wonderful towns with amazing bakeries. Restraints and people. We could have stayed a month and been happy. Gemma and her sister Eva could not have been more helpful. We scheduled family yoga and for dinner to be prepared for us one night and it is already a cherished memory.

Great place for a large group

This villa was amazing. Great living living spaces, clean, private, well maintained. There is nothing negative about this beautiful villa. Our host was helpful in many ways and very kind. We would return anytime. We were a group of 11 adults. Everyone had enough space. If you plan to visit Barcelona during your stay, it’s about 30-35 minutes to the center of the city, and for us, we wish it would be a little bit closer.

Incredible house, incredible host

Gemma has always been courteous and helpful prior to our booking through our check out. She cared deeply on making sure our needs were met and went above and beyond helping us with accommodations being from the United States. The pictures of the property do not do it justice! The house exceeded every expectation and was very comfortable. This property is a can’t miss- highly recommend and hope to come back again in the years to come. We did a few day trips into Barcelona and being in Cabrils on this property was easy to manage and a great relaxation away from the city. Very happy with this stay and everything was perfect.

The best stay EVER!

I cannot speak highly enough about our stay with Eva, Gemma and Manel. Communication and assistance from the hosts before, during and after our stay has been incredible. Nothing was ever too much trouble and it made our extended weekend just so straightforward, even for the 19 guests we had. The villa itself was even more amazing than we expected, there are no amount of photos that could do it justice. It’s absolutely stunning. So much so that we’re thinking of returning next year for a big family holiday. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and these hosts to anybody, it was absolutely the most perfect weekend!

Incredible Host and Property

Gemma hosted my family, along with two other families, in her ancestral home the week of Thanksgiving. The home was a beautiful juxtaposition of medieval architecture with modern conveniences. The space was large and adequately situated for three families with 8 children, ranging from 13 to 1 years old. Knowing this in advance, Gemma pulled out basketballs and bowling pins for the children to use outside and prepared bedding, high chairs and toys for the younger children. The kitchen was incredible and outfitted for major parties and easily served our group. Prior to our arrival, Gemma helped us plan our Barcelona trip, suggesting sites to see and how to prepare (like what sites to book in advance and notes on climate changes in the mountains) She offered local restaurant recommendations and provided transportation information - even offering to accompany us to the train station to ensure we didn’t have any issues. We were interested in experiencing the local culture from our home as well and Gemma arranged for a wonderful yoga session and talented chef to come to the home. Both were incredible experiences and highly recommend both. Our chef, Victor, served a vast tapas spread the first evening and delighted us with fiduea on Thanksgiving. He shared his experiences with travel, his history and spoke to us about food throughout the meal prep which made it an interactive cultural experience as well. Our yoga instructor creatively engaged our children and incorporated fun partner-based positions that created a memorable bonding experience. Our kids played in the large garden space for hours and lounged on the outside deck. We have amazing memories of sharing Thanksgiving on the large outside patio under cafe lights. The home has access to public transportation which my husband rode easily into the city, and is about a 30 minute drive into Barcelona. We visited Tibidabo, Montserrat and many Barcelona city attractions while there with ease. Everything was perfect about the home and our host displayed a genuine joy in hosting us. We highly highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Best hen weekend

We booked Gemma’s villa for my hen do and we cannot fault it at all. The best thing by far about this property though is the incredible Gemma! She is a host that truly goes above and beyond! The little touches like makeup remover in all the bathrooms, running us to the shops and even getting us a welcome drink on arrival! The pictures do not do this property justice! We will most definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Eine Traumvilla

Wir haben 4 wundervolle Tage zur Hochzeit unseres Sohnes in dieser charaktervollen, weitläufigen, mit viel Liebe und Geschmack eingerichteten historischen Villa verbracht. Verliebt!

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 12 Freunden. Die Unterkunft hat uns komplett umgehauen. In echt sieht alles noch viel schöner aus, als auf den Fotos. Es ist so viel Platz und alles mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wir waren 5 Tage dort und hätten noch weitere ran hängen können. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Eva und Gemma sind beide unglaublich liebenswert und hilfsbereit. Sie standen und bei allen Fragen zur Seite. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können diese Unterkunft nur jedem weiterempfehlen. Gail’s 70th!

Wonderful time celebrating with my husband, 3 kids, spouses and 6 grandkids. House was so spacious and so well equipped. Had many meals at home because house was so comfortable but there were some great restaurants nearby. Gemma was a wonderful host and went way above her duties. Wonderful resource for suggestions, ideas, recommendations. And the chapel on the property is really special. Highly recommend.

Girls 50th birthday holiday

This was an amazing and very spacious property and just perfect for our group of 13. Gemma was the most helpful and friendly host who went above and beyond to help with making our stay very relaxing. Having a car would be beneficial due to the location but not necessary as some public transport is available. Lots of fans are available but some air conditioning would definitely help to make it more comfortable, especially in the height of summer. We had a fantastic time and Gemma and her husband were so welcoming.
