Unreliable and unprofessional
We had booked Suite Casanova. The hotel should have a 24-hour reception according to hotels.com. Nevertheless I called the hotel at 5:00 PM and told them we would be arriving late due to flight delays. No problem, we will be here when you arrive, they replied. When we arrived at 11:30 PM, the hotel was closed for the night and no one answered the phone. The water taxi driver called around and finally managed to get in touch with the receptionist. After standing for 30 minutes on the small pier facing the canal, we were let in. The receptionist who had finally appeared helped us with our luggage to the room. He made it very clear that he did not intend to leave the room until he received a tip.
The staff is not very service minded.
We were also a bit surprised when we asked the reception to book a water taxi for us to the airport, they would only do it if they got paid in cash up front.
Ouer room had a fantastic view of the canal and the Suspiros Bridge.
