Hotel Palomas is charming. The rooms are big, clean and offer a good quiet nights sleep. The breakfast was prepared every morning on time and the staff provided service with a smile. The pool was refreshing and just enough when you want to take a quick dip. Don’t forget the workout area next to the pool. I thought it was a playground for kids but then realized it was body weight equipment. The public bus stop going to PVR is a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. It’s not bad during the day and very safe however don’t wear your good shoes as there is no sidewalk (just a dusty little walkway). And be very careful crossing the street to get to the bus pick up area. The bus is very cheap and they drop you near the Sheraton Hotel in PVR. You can walk to the shops, restaurants and Malecón from there. At night, I used Uber and the rates ($12-$14 USD) were not bad considering the distance from the Romantic Zone. The front desk agent recommended that I visit and explore Bucerias which was lovely. It’s a 5-7 minute Uber ride and a nice alternative to PVR. If you visit, go to Fat Boys for lunch or dinner…really good food and nice staff. Hotel Palomas is a good deal and easy on the budget. You may need to discover your inner explorer to get around, but it’s all worth it in the end.
