The Neighborhood:
Rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth sits in the heart of the northern Marais, one of Paris's most captivating and sought-after neighbourhoods. This is a part of the city where beautifully preserved 17th-century architecture lines the streets alongside contemporary art galleries, independent boutiques, and some of the best restaurants and wine bars in Paris.
Just steps from the apartment, you'll find the vibrant market street of Rue de Bretagne and the wonderful Marché des Enfants Rouges — Paris's oldest covered market, dating back to 1615, where you can pick up fresh produce, street food from around the world, and a glass of wine on a sunny terrace. The Centre Pompidou, one of Europe's most iconic modern art museums, is a short walk away, as is the magnificent Place des Vosges — the city's oldest planned square and a perfect spot for a morning coffee surrounded by elegant arcaded facades.
The Musée Picasso, the Jewish Quarter along Rue des Rosiers, and the charming Place de la République are all within easy reach. The Marais is famously one of the few Paris neighbourhoods where shops and restaurants stay open on Sundays, making it ideal for a leisurely day of exploring without the usual city quiet. Whether you're gallery-hopping, browsing vintage stores, or simply wandering the cobbled streets discovering hidden courtyards, this neighbourhood rewards every step.
