The room itself was decent and clean-ish with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The complex is secured behind a coded gate. There is also a parking lot. Location is great and suited our needs.
However, the strong cigarette smell was terrible for a “non smoking room.” We dreaded going back to the room each night because of that smell mixed with all the other smells of the room (mildew, ac, humidity, etc).
A very nice man with the property checked in on us the first night and we mentioned the smell. He right away retrieved an air circulation device. It helped a tiny bit and we got used to the smell, but they took the device after the first night even though I asked if we could keep it to fight the smell.
The sheets looked either dirty or stained, couldn’t tell which one. I asked for these to be changed and it didn’t get done until 1.5 days later.
Communication with the property around all of this was poor. They would respond, acknowledge, but not do what we asked. Finally on the last day they came to clean our room, but left us with 0 toilet paper. Nothing. Not even under the sink as they claimed. It was an unfortunate way to end our stay.
