This hotel is like a low cost airliner, unfortunately without the low cost price tag.
After check in I inquired about my luggage that had been sent from my previous hotel. It took the staff 10min to find out that my luggage had already been delivered to my room and the two times I suggested that the staff could come back to me later I was firmly instructed to wait. The hotel has clear signs of wear and tear, the safe deposit box in the room didn’t work upon arrival and the TV remote ran flat on the second day. Extra services costs money, like 6000yen for each entrance the pool per hotel guest and an additional 6000yen for a sun bed and an umbrella. The hotel believes that 3 life guards is necessary on duty for a small hotel pool, and no food or drinks is allowed outside the designated area so if you like to go and eat that’s one more admission cost. The hotel bar in the lobby took the last order at 22:30.
Like with a low cost airliner you are put in your seat (place), you can expect nothing but the core product delivered (a room), you pay extra for any services (like the pool), and service stops in due time before landing (in your bed).
Hotels.com should start differentiating between “pool included” and “pool available” like they do with breakfast.
