Unfortunately, communication with the owner was extremely poor. The owner did not respond to any messages sent through Expedia/VRBO. I only received check-in instructions about half a day before arrival after using the email address provided. In that response, the owner referred me to a separate contact as the property manager.
On the day of checkout, while I was driving off the property and my wife was home alone with our baby, a cleaning person entered the house unannounced approximately 40 minutes before checkout. My wife was upstairs nursing our baby at the time. She texted me to say that someone had entered the home. When I called the supposed property manager, she stated that she has not managed this property in over three years. The cleaner then left without properly closing the door.
The property itself was acceptable but clearly not well maintained. Several door handles, closet doors, and shelves were broken. While most of this was tolerable, there was an exposed, burned-out electrical outlet, which is a safety concern—especially for families with children.
Overall, the lack of communication, poor coordination, and safety issues made this a disappointing experience.
