I have never before written such a detailed review for anywhere we have stayed. However, this Home deserves it.Overall, the home is phenomenal. The views from the sitting room and the master bedroom are wonderful. The balcony views overlooking Dublin Bay and Dalkey island are beautiful. The sun rising over the ocean is warm and lovely. The secret locked path to the road below allows you to quickly walk down to a local swimming site (Vico)or a bit farther down the road to 238 stairs up to Killiney Hill park, which is incredible, or a bit farther down to Whiterock beach, easy walking distance. Other than the occasional train/dart sound/horn the location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The dart line is down the hill between the back garden and the ocean.Looking over Dublin Bay every day is absolutely incredible. The sunrise is beautiful.A few minute walk to Sorrento park with elevated views and Dillon park with incredible views of Dalkey island and Dublin bay. About a 10 minute walk to Collimore harbor where you can take a boat to Dalkey island and visit some ancient sites and some beautiful goatsAs with all older homes minor repairs could occur: however, in no way whatsoever does this distract from the perfection of this home. there is no air conditioning because this is Ireland. During the day the house can become quite warm during the summer so simply open the windows and doors and then the temperature is perfect.The kitchen is perfect the dining room and sitting roo

Ravello relaxation

Being at the Irish Sea was a delight. Easy access to Dalkey and Dublin, even with no car. Excellent restaurants in Dalkey. We had the extra good fortune of sunny weather and cousins near by. Friends and family shared the fun in this very large villa, well appointed!

Dalkey delight

We were greeted by Orla with stunning views at Ravello. The location and accommodations were beyond expectations. Orla organized a trip, groceries and answered every question we had about Dublin and the surrounding areas. We will be back! 5 stars!

Sea Villa Holiday

Very lovely villa overlooking the Irish sea Great place for a large group. Orla, the property manager is great. She is very accessible and goes above a d beyond to ensure you have everything you need. Highly recommend this beautiful villa.

Amazing ... Beautiful

Was a wonderful property and wonderful neighborhood. Stroll to morning daily Mass and coffee, pub for a pint in the afternoon. Plunge in the ocean on New Years Day with the rest of the locals. Great time.

Family celebration gathering in Dalkey, September 2022.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this magnificent villa with spectacular views of Dublin Bay. Our family celebration gathering at Ravello was an outstanding success. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful villa and will recommend it highly to friends who wish to visit Dublin. Orla was very responsiveness and helpful to the few minor questions we had.

Hits and Misses

First, the views from Ravello are truly spectacular. Dalkey is a great village with excellent restaurants and the most delightful people imaginable, Dublin is a short train ride away and the caterered dinners were great. However, all was not great in paradise. The check in process was inadequate given the concierge was clearly anxious to go on vacation and there was no local back up assistance provided. The property, itself is in need of tender loving care. Beyond some paint and general outside clean up, more specifically we encountered the refrigerator ice maker did not work, 2 of 3 fire places were inoperable, a filthy outside grill, the master bathroom shower was inoperable, 2 patio lounge chairs were broken and (really should be thrown out) and 1of 2 clothes dryers was broken. We were also not notified that the alarm system was armed. We found out when it inexplicably went off. The alarm company notified Orla ,the concierge who was vacationing in Portugal, who contacted us with the code. Finally, make sure you bring shampoo, conditioner and bars of soap - none were provided.

Beautiful home for a family milestone

This is a beautiful spacious home with everything we needed for a week-long family stay in celebration of my parents’ 60th anniversary. We were a group of 11 and had more than enough space. Kitchen is well-appointed and made meals several nights. Restaurants and cafés are a short 10-15 mins walk. The rail line is also a close walk and super user-friendly. Scenic walks along the water are nearby. Also a great location as home base for day trips to explore Wicklow County and Newgrange, Dublin etc. Orla was also a great asset and helped us with whatever we needed both before the trip and during the trip. Highly recommend this stunning home!!

Heavenly

Staying in this beautiful home with a spectacular view was the most relaxing and enjoyable way for our family to gather together. We so loved this house, it was hard to leave it long enough to see other areas on the east coast coast of Ireland. Fortunately, Dalkey was charming and an easy walk down the hill. When we did venture into Dublin, the train station was close by and easy to use. I highly recommend this home and location to anyone looking for a very special vacation.

Dalkey is a lovely town and a nice retreat after day trips to Dublin.

The house in Dalkey is in a beautiful neighborhood, on a hill overlooking the ocean. It is an easy walk into town, about .6 miles (uphill on the way back, but certainly not a problem). The house itself is pretty and spacious, with a modern and well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of common area space, and a beautiful porch. There were, for us, some technical issues. The TVs did not work, the sauna did not work (as far as we could tell), the electricity burned out hair appliances, even with a converter, and the refrigerator door does not close properly. These things should all be addressed The DART train into Dublin is close by and we felt it was clean, reliable, and easy to use. Overall, we would recommend the house. The pros far outweigh the cons. .

Vacation comfort in style

The Seaview Villa lived up to all its hype! The location was wonderful as it provided peace and calmness after days of touring and the town of Dalkey was quaint with all the stores and restaurants that you would need. A short 15 walk from the Villa and you were in the center of Dalkey and the train station for a quick 30 minute train ride to Dublin. The only drawback was that the two main bedrooms on the first floor had a tub that was hard for our seniors to access for showering, but with three other showers in the villa we made do with little inconvenience. We would highly recommend the villa for a family vacation retreat. The views are incredible and in the summer the outdoor areas would be very enjoyable, even with the chilly weather we were able to enjoy cocktails on the terrace and see magnificent sunrises. Our host Orla was excellent and if there was a need she was only 10 minutes away..

Jewel in Dalkey's Crown

We rented the house over our wedding weekend this August with some friends and family. The communication in the build up to and during our stay could not have been better. Orla (who manages the property) arranged a very straight forward check-in/ check out for us and was incredibly responsive and helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The house itself is like something out of a film, with arguably one of the best views in Ireland overlooking Sorrento villas and the beautiful Killiney bay. All of our guests were in awe of the place. The house was totally spotless and equipped for everything you could possibly need. We had a small gathering at the house on the day after our wedding, which proved to be a total highlight for us and all of our guests. There are so many wonderful entertaining spaces (both inside and out) to enjoy! Orla was so helpful and even offered to arrange caterers for us for our second party. We highly recommend the house for anyone looking for a seaside retreat or trip away with friends and family in relaxed luxury.

The house is amazing, something out of a fairy tale.

We rented the house for 1 week to house our families, as we got married in Ireland. We had our family's come together under 1 roof for a whole week and it ended up being the most incredible week of our lives. The house was perfect to allow for our family to get to know each other, and the view is the best you could find anywhere. Overall, the check-in and out process was so easy and stress-free and our favorite things about the villa were the short walk to Dalkey, the incredibly comfortable beds, the dining room and of course the view of the majestic Irish sea. I cannot wait to come back as we now have so many memories at this beautiful property. Karl & Jamie

A fantastic vacation home

We loved staying at this property. We had plenty of room for 7 adults and 4 teens/kids to spread out. The views are sensational. 3 working gas fire places were so nice to have going in the evenings and mornings. We enjoyed grilling on the patio, dining outside and inside - the formal dining room fits 10 comfortably. The kitchen/dining room are well-equipped with stem ware, glasses, silver and even a wine decanter. The gardens are very beautiful and well-maintained. The town of Dalkey is post-card charming and just a leisurely stroll away. The town has butchers, bakeries, grocery, wine shops, pubs (Finnegans was a favorite) and many great restaurants. The train station is on the edge of town and also easy to walk to. Cabs are available as well. Very short train ride to Dublin city center. Orla, our host, was exceptional. She shopped for us ahead of time, arranged all of our transportation and organized day trips. She is first-class. We cannot recommend this property enough and hope we will be able to visit again soon.

Awesome Location and Gorgeous Views

We enjoyed the Villa and the amazing Location and Views. We were a large group and the house is extremely accommodating. The town is quaint and the people are very friendly. We kept hearing how Bono lives close and has frequents the pubs there. The train station is close and easy to get to Dublin in just 30 minutes. The owner is very hospitable and helpful; along with the house manager. I highly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again in the future.

Excellent location for a family gathering

We had a large number of people from many parts of the world with us for a family occasion. Thee house was excellent for our family party. The facilities, especially the kitchen, the layout and the stunning view really made the trip. The support we had from our host, Orla, before we arrived and while we were in the house was top class. Our only criticism is that the water pressure for showers etc could be improved

Just perfect!

We had the most fabulous time at the Sea View Villa! The house was very well appointed - we had everything we needed including a table setting for 12 people. The views are indescribable- truly beautiful. Short 25 min or so train ride to Dublin was very easy. Loved the little town of Dalkey! I only wish we had more time to explore! Orla was amazing and took care of everything- including fresh flowers. Thanks for everything! Kristin
