I am a 60 year old man and haven’t left a negative review before. However, I need to share my February 2026 experience during a short stay if it can help protect someone else. At first, the resort seemed decent, but my problems started on night two when I was aggressively propositioned by a young male at the Lobby bar on night two. He indicated that he wanted to take me to my room and do explicit things to me. I politely declined, but he persisted. I immediately left and decided to order room service for dinner to avoid him.
I was pretty upset the next day and believe his true intentions may have been to rob me in the room. I decided to report the situation and asked if I could leave the resort early. The young manager was nice and thanked me for filing the report. She indicated I could leave early, but the refund could take months. I needed to leave and had no choice.
Thankfully I was able to get into another resort that morning. Things turned even uglier when I was trying to leave due to my $110 gift shop charge. They had a large man from the hotel lobby staff make it clear that he would bring me back in the building to pay this charge even though they owed me money. I gave give him $120 cash outside and was allowed to leave. Although they refused to allow my uber inside the resort gates which they had earlier and made me walk out to the road. Be aware of this resort and its clientele. I highly recommend any Iberostar resort.
