Just had a great stay at the Grand Sirenis. We traveled with a group of 8, one of whom was wheelchair bound, and found the resort to be accessible, and employees to be accommodating. She was able to get everywhere in the resort in her chair, although sometimes having to travel a bit out of the way to take an accessible route.
The resort was very beautiful and extremely clean…rooms were cleaned daily, as long as you turned your housekeeping light on, and the common areas (beach area, restaurants, building lobbies, pools, even roads/paths) were maintained very regularly and felt very sanitary. There was always something going on - contests/games at the pool, a band on the beach, wonderful paella or other Mexican specialties being cooked beachside, etc… and food/drinks are available most hours of the day. We really enjoyed our stay.
Four star review is for a few reasons. Nothing that would make me tell someone not to go, but might deter us from going back if we can find accommodations elsewhere:
- pools were freezing and no hot tubs. Despite the 80° temps and sunshine every day, the pools were very cold, including the lazy river AND the two small pools within the large pool that look like hot tubs (jets and all) but are just as cold as all the others.
- pools all close at dusk. No night swimming,
- reservations were nearly impossibly. We had a large group but couldn’t get reservations even when we divided. Buffet was always avail but just ok food there.
