«We stayed 3 nights in Gategaa Village during Songkran and it was such a comfortable stay. Best things about it are: - Spaciousness of the room (2 bathrooms, 4 beds, 2 TVs) - All day snacks and drinks a the lobby - Location was right across the Ping River, allowing us to skip the Songkran traffic jams but still near enough to the Old City for us to just drive in for some fun and games - Pretty complete city hotel, they even had a washing machine and dryer we could operate ourselves»

«I stayed 5 nights , the apartment is very clean , kitchen very good , wifi working well , bed is very comfortable . The location is great , walkable to old city and markets , the area is very safe , lots of restaurants around and supermarket is a short walk . The communication with the host was great , she answers right away and very helpful . There is a tour office and cafeteria in the first floor of the building which were also great. «Well let me start with the location of the house. On VRBO the house location on map is just east of the center of town. In reality it is 12 km (according to google) south of downtown. I contacted the owner about the house address because I was trying to arrange a golf trip and needed transportation. Never got a physical address till we landed. Do not expect 5 star service and facilities
"The Marriott Hotel in Chiang Mai is not a 5 star hotel by any standards. It is a soulless machine that lacks the attention to detail and charm so many hotels in Thailand can boost. Chaotic breakfast service with good variety but no heart put into providing food of quality; uninspired Thai dishes, stale factory bread, cheap tea bags... Dirty carpets in the lifts. Cheap bathroom products. Blocked toilet and leak from roof (which were quickly fixed, but nevertheless). The many little things that added together makes you feel like you are in a mediocre 4 star hotel. I chose Marriott for location as my favourite hotels in CM - Yaang Come Village, Tamarind Village, and the Rachamankha hotel were all fully booked. Depending on your budget, try one of these instead!"
