«We stayed at the casitas last summer and enjoyed our stay. We stayed at Royal this time and didn’t have as good of an experience. They didn’t tell us where our room was so we had to figure out the wifi and find a map while standing in the heat. Our toilet kept messing up and wouldn’t flush. They fixed it once but that only lasted a few flushes. The bracelet to open my room wouldn’t work. They fixed it but it only worked one time. Luckily my husbands bracelet worked. «Chablé Maroma”s location, facilities, restaurants, and vibe are outstanding and superior to the half dozen or so Riviera Maya properties I have stayed at in recent years. The breakfast at the Kaban restaurant on the water is a sublime experience. The jungle spa has everything you’d expect at a world-class facility, and it is right in the middle of a teeming jungle. The staff are always genuinely helpful and courteous.»

«We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.»

« Booked this property last minute, got on a flight down there, took a taxi to the property only to find out they canceled the reservation. I never received any notification and it took me contacting them to have them tell me they cancelled it. Here we stand, a family of 5 with no place to stay. Had to take a taxi back to the airport and get booked on the soonest flight back home. I would not recommend staying here, and Expedia was no help either, all they said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. »
