There is Rats, you can’t control the heat the shower doesn’t drain correctly the electricity goes out if you have more then 3 to 4 lights on but at least it’s kinda safe to stay in they have two doors to keep people out of the building

The apartment showed its wear and tear, not so much like the pictures. The heat went on and it was close to 90 in the bedrooms. Because the heat is controlled by the building there was nothing that anyone could do. So it was very uncomfortable. Also, the unit was missing a few important details, like hooks for towels, etc. I think this unit could be much improved with some TLC.

This apartment was perfect for us. For NYC it is nice and big, and a big bonus we missed in the listing was that there's an elevator in the building, which makes dragging luggage in and out really easy. It's conveniently located by a subway station, so getting around town was easy. We have visited the city numerous times, and wanted to explore a different area, and I'm so glad we did!

The apartment is really nice comfortable, clean and fully stocked. Great location near the subway Central Park and lots of restaurants. I did not get the specific checking instructions and I had to contact the vendor the night before my arrival. When I did arrive at 11: 00pm the code to get in the building worked but the apartment was locked and no key available. I called the building manager and after a bit of a wait he showed up. There was some mix-up in the booking but luckily there was a vacant apt in the building and he made a great effort to make me feel comfortable there. I was on the verge of booking a hotel but really didn't want to change location. I don't think this is a typical experience but it did affect my rating of the property because it was my experience. I'm glad it worked out because I had a great stay and would stay here again.

Lack of maintenance old apartment, not clean, host is lack of communication. Felt unsafe area, can hear mice running noise above the ceiling. Do not recommend at all!

Neighborhood is very sketchy and NOT safe

Although this apartment was very clean and spacious and looked like the pictures as advertised, we had to leave and find a different apartment a few hours after checking in and exploring the neighborhood. The neighborhood was so bad and we felt very unsafe, especially because we had our teen daughter with us. This apartment is located in Harlem, on the north end of Central Park. We did not realize how bad the location would be and we should have researched it better. We ended up forfeiting our entire payment and we found a different place in lower Manhattan, thank goodness. So just beware: like I said, the apartment itself is very nice and clean (although it only has a mini-fridge with no freezer other than a tiny box in the mini-fridge that was a little bit colder, something we were surprised about), but if you are looking for a safe, nice neighborhood close to cafes and restaurants and shops, this is not the place to rent. The host was responsive and said she would try to rent it out again for the remainder of our dates from July 24-30, but told us she was unable to.

Our family loved the location of this spacious apartment. It was just a short walk to the subway, buses, and the north side of Central Park.The beds were comfortable and there was a full set of new, good quality pots and pans in the kitchen.The street got a little noisy on a couple of the nights of our stay (this is to be expected in most parts of NYC) so if occasional night time noise bothers you, bring earplugs.This apartment was very reasonably priced and we would be happy to stay there again.

Top apartment

Lovely apartment. Very spacious for Manhattan. The subway is very close so it was very easy to get to Time Square and mid town in general. Really enjoyed my morning stroll in central park as well. Host is very responsive, I recommend.
