«Beautiful property up in the hills and mountains above Funchal. The gardens are especially impressive. Large, clean and inviting room. Bed a little too hard and water pressure in sink and shower not impressive, otherwise nothing to complain about. Great breakfast - good selection and quality offerings. "Fantastisk hotell med flott beliggenhet i solfylte Calheta. Hotellet utmerker seg spesielt på kundeservicen, der alle er veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Alle restaurantene håndterte matallergier eksemplarisk, noe som ikke er en selvfølge. Stemningen på hotellet er veldig rolig og avslappende, både ved bassenget og ved solsengene nede ved havet. Både fellesområdene og hotellrommet var veldig rent, og det vaskes/ryddes flere ganger daglig. Vi kommer definitivt tilbake!!"

"The buffet felt less like a fresh dining experience and more like a systematic recycling operation. At the beginning of the week there was fresh fruit laid out nicely. As the days went by, that same fruit seemed to reappear in a different form. By the end of the week it had quietly turned into a rather sad fruit salad, clearly assembled from pieces that had already spent a bit too long on display. The vegetables were equally uninspiring. The broccoli appeared to be simply boiled and left exactly like that. No salt, no butter, no garlic, no seasoning whatsoever. Just plain green florets with almost no flavor at all. The potatoes followed the same philosophy: boiled, bland and completely forgettable. The pork was worse. It was not properly cooked through, which should never happen at a buffet. Pork must be fully cooked, and serving it undercooked is simply not acceptable. The fish also seemed suspiciously familiar, looking exactly like the same fish that had been sitting on the buffet earlier, just rearranged and presented again. What made the situation even more ironic was the daily “theme” dinners. Each evening was advertised with a different concept. One example was “Mexican Fiesta.” In reality it was exactly the same food as every other day. The only thing that made it “Mexican” was that a few tortillas and some chopped onions were placed next to the same dishes already served all week. That was the entire fiesta. "A wonderful hotel with fantastic staff. Everything was clean and of a high standard, with a great sea view. It was lovely to be able to swim in the sea, and the pools were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and many new items every day. The best part was the man who made fresh omelettes daily, increadibly service-minded, smiling and friendly. Second time at this hotel, and be back - love everything with it. Close to lovely restaurants and bus 9 to the airport. "

"The location was very good, especially for going on different excursions around Madeira. Breakfast was a highlight – nice selection and tasty options that we really enjoyed. Parking was a bit cramped, and the overall standard of the hotel felt somewhat outdated and in need of an upgrade. That said, the facilities and room still felt clean and fairly well maintained, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our stay was affected by a water leakage in the room (from the bathtub-shower), which caused inconvenience. While the staff noted our complaint, we did not feel the situation was followed up in a satisfactory way, and the lack of compensation was disappointing. Overall, the hotel has potential due to its location and breakfast, but improvements in both service and facilities are needed."
