«The place is full of gnats and mosquitoes, I have got bitten all over my body, there is not Air conditioner so we have to leave the windows open for air circulation. They won’t even have drinking water facilities. When told about the lizards and gnats in the room, got a reply that lizards are lucky to have in the room. There were ants and roaches as well in the rooms. Had a very rough night in Big island retreat. Even the pictures are different from what they show. I was difficult to get to the ...

«Absolutely lovely property at the very top of a hill overlooking Hilo waterfront. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need them. Otherwise, you never know they’re there. Perfect get away. Close to everything.»

«Room I booked had strong mildew smell. Owner solved problem by allowing us to move to upstairs unit. This was so much better. Appreciate the responsiveness. Hot tub is very old and beat up. Time for an upgrade. But sitting there at night with frogs and moonlight was awesome. Lava tube was closed. This was a bummer as it’s why we picked this place. Very close to park entrance. Short drive.»

We reasonably expected some form of A/C given the warm and humid climate, but this was not mentioned in the listing.Because of medical conditions, air conditioning is a requirement for us, not just a preference.
