Cholera Monument

No parking at the property. You have to park in the Broad Street car park for £15. Very basic amenities - tea and coffee. It did the job for what I needed as was going to a gig. Wouldn't want to stay there otherwise - no atmosphere and a bit drab.

Photos on the site are not representative of the property or rooms. The pub is not maintained to a good standard. Carpet leading up the stairs to the bedrooms was filthy. Room itself looked clean enough. The bathroom was the oddest thing I've ever seen. The sink was on top of the toilet due to lack of space. The sealant and grouting in the shower was black with mould. The room was in the eaves of the pub. There was a low beam over the bed, this was dangerous (yes there are signs to say watch your head), but if you need to get up in the night, a guest could easily bang their head. The room we booked showed a different photo of the room. We did not use the bathroom other than for the toilet. There is a sink in the bedroom which we used to brush our teeth. The bedding had seen better days with the pillowcases ripped at the seams. Strangely, the bed was comfortable and we slept OK. Our TV did not seem to work. The free WiFi signal did not reach up to our room. Property says there is free parking, which is technically true, with only parking available on the streets around the pub. Yes, it is cheap, but a certain standard should be provided, regardless of cost.
