We stayed in the Annexe, a separate house next door to the hotel, we were unaware of this when booking. A lovely young lady from reception took us to the room, and gave advice on parking- hotel parking is minimal, and you have to leave your keys with reception, as it’s a game of ‘car park jam’, or you can try and park on one of the neighbouring roads. The annexe house looks just like a student house, a shabby front door with a key and pin pad entry system. Inside the grey thickly plastered walls are unwelcoming, a tatty settee at the bottom of the stairs blocks access and causes problems when carrying luggage, and must breach fire regulations. The room itself appeared quite pleasant, bright, modern, comfortable, spacious, a lovely bathroom with white fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. However, it did have a few negatives - the blinds closed with a gap in the middle, the bathroom vanity unit was broken, some parts of the carpet were grim, some of the decoration needed attention and a little deep cleaning required -but the room was so hot, no air conditioning, full sun through the broken blinds and no blackout curtains! The hotel public amenities appeared to be good, but didn’t really use them because our accommodation did not require us to access the facilities. Overall the stay was ok, probably wouldn’t return.
