A visit to Durango isn't complete until you ride the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge rail road! Spectacular views from the historic train. Just sit back and enjoy. For this shot, I went outside on the platform of the last car to get a shot along the whole length of the train. #railroad #train #historic_rail_journey #adventure #history
We got to ride in the open air car that climbed 2500 feet through mountain passes along the river. The trip took nearly four hours with this narrow gauge steam locomotive that was built almost 100 years ago.

The Hermosa area of the Animas Valley north of Durango CO was badly hit by wildfires this summer followed by rains that caused mudslides. Many local organic farms are located here. Out of the summer we are now in a beautiful period of fall colors. The last of the summer’s organic flowers are about to fade. Sunrise on Monday morning shows the beautiful recovery of this valley. #golden
