A visit to Durango isn't complete until you ride the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge rail road! Spectacular views from the historic train. Just sit back and enjoy. For this shot, I went outside on the platform of the last car to get a shot along the whole length of the train. #railroad #train #historic_rail_journey #adventure #history
We got to ride in the open air car that climbed 2500 feet through mountain passes along the river. The trip took nearly four hours with this narrow gauge steam locomotive that was built almost 100 years ago.

We have had a huge snow year down in the southern Rockies. The high country is buried in snow. But at the mid elevations in the Hesperus area near Durango Colorado the effects of the increased moisture can be seen quite clearly. The lupines and mules ears are blooming amazing at the moment.
