«We had a great time at Na'alehu. We arrived after dark and the road to the apartment was a little bit scary, as some parts are not paved. But just keep going to the top of the hill and you'll find the place. Vickie and Wesley were very friendly and exeptionally helpful during our stay - thank you! The place is close to south point, green sands beach and Punalu'u black sand beach (where green sea turtles sometimes come to rest). We also recommend the Punalu'u bakeshop with delicious treats.»

«Property was clean and as quaint as advertised. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. The dehumifier offered, while a nice gesture, was not adequate for the space. It would have been nice to have a table or suitcase rack to keep luggage off the floor. The only "real" problme was coffee maker did not work. We would definately stay here again.»

«Beautiful setting in a remote location. The condominium was very comfortable, almost like home. Wish we could have stayed longer. If you are going to stay at Colony I, do your grocery shopping before arriving. Closest grocery store is a 30 min. drive. Same with dining. Be mindful that there are few restaurants near the property, and after 6 PM it's a 30 min drive minimum. »

«During our short stay we were able to visit Volcanoes National Park, the Green Sand Beach close to South Point, go night snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona, visit several beaches, and even drive up Mauna Kea on our last day in Big Island (night flight) - we could not have achieved this and more without staying in such a perfectly placed location, one with unique landscape on its doorstep (the local history of lava flows was truly fascinating).
