Tawang kloster

One of our favourite shots from Tawang monastery in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh state, northeast India. 📿Tawang monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and the 2nd largest in the world, only surpassed by Potala palace in Lhasa, Tibet. 💫It's a colossal, self-contained medieval citadel and built across three different levels and harbouring hundreds of resident monks. In this image, you are observing the approach to the main courtyard of the monastery. Jili is leaning against the whitewashed wall of the principal prayer house, which enshrines a huge Buddha statue. How elegant and refined those windows are! To the left are monks’ residential buildings with their distinctive yellow roofs. ✨That graceful edifice in the distance, situated right at the entrance to the main courtyard, is where you will find butter lamps 🔥burning inside a small room on the upper level. There is also a balcony up here where one can indulge in a magnificent panoramic view overlooking Tawang. Koselig lite hotell nært til Termini og buss forbindelser. Ikke så sentralt iforhold til gamlebyen. Frokost ok, men i høysesong må man gjerne regne med noe venting på bord. Spisesalen er noe liten så bildene lyger litt på hjemmesiden til hotellet. Koselig betjening som hjalp oss med gode svar og løsninger. Vi var på hotellet i perioden 13-17 April 2014 første del av påsken.

Hotel is great, check in awful. Even though I paid for the room, 1 member of our party wasn’t allowed to check in until the other member of the double room came. It took over an hour to get it sorted,after Expedia had helped. 2 straws laid in the hall outside our door for 3 days before they finally were gone. Window had torn film. This is not what you expect of this type of hotel.
