«The staff was wonderful and so was the breakfast. The balcony overlooking the garden was also wonderful. Monkeys were in the trees when we arrived. Short drive to the national park.»

«Very friendly owner of the place. She didn't speak English, but we were able to communicate nevertheless. Breakfast was good. On the day of check out we had to leave very early, she was so kind to cut us some fruits for take out the night before. The hotel is very close to the entrance of the national park. »

«Beautiful property with lots of amenities. Flowers, birds, howler monkeys, etc…can be enjoyed throughout the property. The massage hut, on site, was outstanding!!! Many restaurants and activities within walking distance.»

«Do yourself a favor and rent this property! The house is absolutely adorable and inspired us to start looking for our dream Costa Rican house. Michael, the caretaker, met us at no one is how are you gonna get in? check-in and the owners ensured we were happy with our stay. «The location was perfect for seeing Rio Celeste and other rainforest tours. Everyone was really friendly and the food was great. Communication was somewhat interesting because I hadn’t brushed up on my Spanish enough but we made it work! The bed wasn’t super comfortable, shower didn’t get very hot and the walls weren’t exactly soundproof but for the price it was still a good value. I’d definitely stay here again!»

«The Casita was just as advertised. Small but didn't feel small. We were nervous about the size before moving in but it felt the right size and we didn't feel crowded or closed in. It had everything that we needed and expected. The view was great and the location was fine. We had a car so getting to groceries etc. was not a problem. Barbara and Lawrence were great hosts. We really enjoyed Lawrence's band practices. All in all a great stay.»

«If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. The area is gorgeous, if you have an extra couple of days it’s a great way to end your trip before flying home.The bad: This is ALL true. «El sitio es muy bonito y cada día ves a un oso perezoso y ranitas en el jardín. Lo único malo es que en la habitación hay muchos insectos y no sale agua caliente en la ducha. El desayuno fue muy escaso (1 tostada partida por la mitad, una rodaja de tomate partido por la mitad y 1 huevo batido, y café..) nos quedamos con hambre. Los propietarios son muy agradables y cada día te localizaban al oso perezoso.»

«Our room overlooked the river. We had fireflys at night, chamelions in the day and real peace and quiet. There is everythng you could need pools fed by the river, trails through the grounds, kitchens barbeques all in good condition. Easy to get to on a good road and close enough to town. »

It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area.
