Our 4-night stay did not meet expectations for an InterContinental property.
The staff were excellent — Oscar, Enrique (valet), and the housekeeping team were kind and helpful — but several service and maintenance issues were never resolved, and we were unable to speak with a manager.
Washcloths (“facial towels”) were not properly stocked. Only one was provided for two guests, and we had to call daily to request more. Larger towels were sent instead. This should not require repeated requests at this level.
The shower had virtually no cold water — temperatures ranged from extremely hot to scalding, which is a safety concern. Bathroom fixtures also showed visible rust, grime, and the in-room TV casting feature never worked.
24-hour room service was advertised but not available after 11pm.
Most concerning was the front desk interaction at checkout. After using express checkout like other guests, we were stopped and told by the staff member Anaisa “didn’t know if the card would go through,” despite an existing substantial authorization. This felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
Considering our total exceeded $1,200 for four nights, the experience did not reflect expected standards, and we chose to complete the rest of our trip elsewhere
