I recently stayed at Krystal Vallarta, and overall it was a mixed experience.
I want to start by recognizing Jose Coria, the front desk manager, who was extremely helpful, professional, and understanding throughout our stay. He truly made a difference and handled everything with care. Victor, the bellhop, was also incredibly helpful and insightful — always ready with a smile and great advice. The rest of the staff were hardworking, kind, and clearly doing their best every day. The service team is absolutely a strong point of this hotel.
Unfortunately, the food was subpar and noticeably low in quality. It’s clear the chef and kitchen staff are doing their best with the ingredients they are given, but the overall dining experience suffers because of it.
My main grievance is with management and corporate. This hotel has huge potential — the location and property are great — but it needs more investment. I would strongly suggest raising prices if necessary and using that revenue to improve food quality, upgrade amenities, and modernize certain areas of the hotel. Additionally, the internet was very poor and worked only intermittently, which was frustrating.
With better corporate support and upgrades, Krystal Vallarta could truly be an outstanding destination. The staff on-site deserve that investment.
