Recently stayed at Hotel Eastlund and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Upon arrival, the room did not appear to be properly cleaned. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed, there were orange splatters inside the mini-fridge, and the tray on the ottoman also had the same orange residue on it. Most concerning was the mold in the bathroom. There was visible mold on the shower tile as well as around the perimeter floor. When we brought it to the attention of the hotel staff, they only confirmed that they were already aware of the issue. That said, we stood on a towel while showering for the duration of our stay.
The surrounding area also felt uncomfortable. There were frequently unhoused individuals around the entrance, and the hotel locks its doors for key-card access in the evenings. While I understand the safety measure, the doors were sometimes locked as early as 6 p.m., and on one occasion there were people on both sides of the entrance when we returned, which felt unsettling.
That said, the hotel is inexpensive and does provide a place to sleep, so you do get what you pay for. However, cleanliness and overall comfort were lacking, and I would not feel comfortable staying here again.
