Chartres 1883 spans three picturesque parcels at the corner of Chartres Street and Montegut Street in the heart of New Orleans’ enchanting and bohemian Bywater neighborhood. At the forefront, the 3-story Main House—a lovingly restored former feed store from the late 1800s—stands as a proud testament to the area’s rich history. Just across the serene courtyard, the Carriage House is tucked away, offering an additional 2 bedroom private retreat that gazes toward Chartres Street. (The carriage house must be booked separately) Stretching gracefully between the two homes lies an expansive grass yard also know as “The Garden” which can be used to for outdoor yoga (mats provided); to host private events (for an additional fee); or to just let your kids run around (priceless!) The Garden at Chartres is accessible from both houses as well as Montegut Street - via a gated driveway - creating a seamless connection to the vibrant surroundings. THE LAYOUT
The three-story Chartres 1883 Main House invites you into an immersive world of artful design and New Orleans charm. Designed by local firm Logan Killen Interiors, our restored historic home combines modern luxury with rich local craftsmanship, offering a uniquely authentic New Orleans stay.

***The First Floor: The Great Room + Powder Room***
A grand, open-concept space centered around a chef's kitchen that exudes understated luxury. Custom wood cabinetry, a marble-topped island, and Italian appliances create a haven for culinary pursuits. The lounge and dining area, with seating for 14, invite connection and conversation. Tucked away, the powder room features a custom hand-painted mural by local artist Small Chalk, evoking the building’s storied past as an 1883 feed store and bar for longshoremen.

***The Second Floor: 3 Queen Bedrooms + 3 Bathrooms***
Each bedroom offers its own sanctuary, wrapped in soothing plaster hues and anchored by handmade beds crafted by local artisans at Doorman Designs and Country Beds. Every bedroom boasts an en-suite washroom, outfitted with either a luxurious soaking tub or a walk-in shower, custom Lehka robes, luxurious Parachute linens and botanical toiletries by Sangre de Fruita

***The Third Floor: 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom***
A dreamscape for the creative spirit, this attic bedroom invites you to escape into your own novel-worthy retreat. With two built-in twin beds, handcrafted by the fifth-generation woodworkers of Toulouse Street Millworks, the space is perfect for sharing quiet moments or indulging in bohemian reveries. This spacious but cozy attic bedroom features its own en-suite washroom clad in curry colored zellige tile handmade in California by Zia Tile and a rainfall shower by Lefroy Brooks USA.

CANCELLATION
Full refund if cancelled within 48 hours of booking and at least 28 days before check-in. After that, the first 30 days of the stay are non-refundable.

After booking, you will receive a welcome email containing our terms and conditions, which must be reviewed and accepted prior to check-in.

AMENITIES:
The home is stocked with several additional amenities such as robes, yoga mats, hair dryers, clothing steamers, travel crib, high-end cooking tools, luxury bath towels and soaps, luxury bed linens and pillows more. If any of these items are missing or damaged, you will receive a charge for additional cleaning or replacement. Photo documentation is provided.

Guest will receive two codes, one for the entrance to the House and one for the gated entrance to the grounds.
