We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Nashville and overall had a pretty good experience. The hotel is in a decent area with easy parking and it’s not terribly far from downtown and all the Nashville action.
The room itself was clean, comfortable, and what I’d generally expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was very clean with a full tub/shower, and we didn’t have any noise issues during our stay. Breakfast was actually better than expected for a hotel breakfast, although I do wish it went a little later than 9 AM.
A couple small things surprised me: no microwave in the room and no ice machine on the 4th floor. Also, the main entrance setup is a little odd because you have to go up steps to get to the elevators. We later realized there’s a step-free entrance on the back side of the property, but that wasn’t obvious at first.
The biggest negative was during check-in. The front desk clerk was polite and efficient, even while dealing with an upset customer on the phone, but after putting the caller on hold she made an uncomfortable comment stereotyping the customer based on race. It felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
On a positive note, one of the night desk clerks was extremely friendly and helpful, even helping me find vending machines and offering me a complimentary soda, which I appreciated.
Overall, despite a few issues, we’d probably stay here again.
