Not up to Marriott standards. Ironically, a placard in the room suggested we leave a "cashless tip." Well, here are my cashless tips.
We chose the TownPlace Suites for its "full" kitchen because we like to eat in when staying several nights. We were given a room that had only an extra-large pot. Who has a chili cook-off from a hotel room? Moreover, one bedside lamp was very dim; the other lacked a bulb. We called the front desk and asked for more pans (a frying pan and saucepan) as well as a spare lightbulb.
The desk clerk said they'd look in another room for pans, but the lightbulb request was impossible because no maintenance person was available. How many maintenance people does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Instead, it was suggested we move rooms. This second room had pans but no forks, a broken paper towel holder (with no paper towels), and a lightbulb missing from the bathroom.
There seemed to be no point in moving again. We were eventually able to get 2 forks and just ignored the burnt-out bulb. However, by the next morning, we found the shower shampoo dispenser was empty, there was black mold around the shower frame, a smashed bug was dried and adhered to the shower wall, at least half of the showerhead's water jets were plugged, the bathroom light bar was rusty, and there was a thick layer of dust on the headboard.
We've stayed in many far worse hotels around the world, but I would expect better from a Marriott in the U.S.
