«I travel quite a lot, and this Ryokan is the best place I have ever stayed at. The attention to detail and thought put into every piece of the home is impeccable. If you are lucky enough for this space to be available during your time in Japan, booking this place would be the best decision! Kimi is absolutely incredible and will ensure your stay is phenomenal. I can’t recommend this place enough. I will be coming back and recommending to everyone I know. »

«Great location, a 15 minute walk to the top of the main street. Pick up and drop offs from the station or ski resorts.

«The resort is surrounded by nature, very quiet and peaceful - perfect if that’s what you’re looking for. It can be a bit inconvenient without a car, but there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel that runs at specific times and goes to the nearest train station, Shiojiri. The owner was very kind and even offered to pick me up and drop me off at the station, and he also took me to visit the old town, Narai-juku.

«Great slice of cabin in the woods humble abode. Clean and warm. You will need a car with AWD and snow tires if visiting in the winter. Beware though, there are monkeys in the woods and they come out in the warm late afternoon. While they're incredible to see, they're smart so keep your food close, snap some pictures and steer clear of them. »

«Very friendly and accommodating hosts. They prepared us an amazing 4 course meal for dinner and a beautiful breakfast. We played games after dinner and they helped with suggestions about what to do in the area. »

«Very thoughtful and helpful staff, always offering us heat packs/ umbrella when we leave in the morning.
Onsen is small but has both indoor and outdoor areas, good vanity supplies and hair dryer.
Location is excellent if you drive and want to be based near the Hoshino resort area. Plenty of things to explore within 20min drive from hotel.»

«Was a great stay at this great little inn. It may be a bit different than what most western guest expect to find, but I went for the Ryokan experience and was not disappointed. Staff were really great, helpful in scheduling transport to the monkey park and to the train station. Room was clean, good size, and had everything I needed.
The town itself is a cute little village and it was a great experience going to all 9 baths in the town. The baths themselves could use a bit more attention... some ...
