«The Big Island Retreat is a lovely property located minutes on foot to one of the best snorkeling beaches on Big Island. We stayed in the Ocean view room which was over 2 floors. The view from the bedroom is lovely. The rooms are quite small with little storage. The bed was only a double and very high off the floor making getting into it really hard. The bathroom is not totally enclosed and has no basin as the kitchen sink is just outside. Although there was nobody staying in the rooms ...

«This is an extraordinary place, beautifully nestled at the top of a narrow tree-lined road, designed to blend into the landscape. It's high, and the view of the sea is grand. Well appointed, with a salt-water pool and very nice communal areas. We stayed only one night, a stopover between Kona airport and the drive to Hilo. We left thinking we would like to stay again, perhaps stay two nights. Lovely hosts. »

«After spending two nights inside Volcanoes national park and two nights in the touristy part of Kailua Kona, staying in this quiet and tranquil property for our last two nights was the perfect way to end our vacation! It is away from the main tourist hub and yet close enough to get to restaurants in Kailua Kona within 15 min. «I knew I wanted to be away from the Kona area and have always loved the Holualoa laid back vibe. Great view from the lanai as I worked on my newsletter. Enjoyed the sunsets tremendously. No need for airconditioning as a leaving the windows slightly open works really well and if it get warmer or if you are warm from having been on a hike the ceiling fan at low speed in both the living room and bedroom work great. «This property was well past my expectations in a good way. Very peaceful and welcoming. You can walk to the shopping center and other beach front resorts with ease. Be prepared to have some type of vehicle whether it’s car, scooter, electric bike etc since most of the attractions are far from this location. »

«Everything was great about the property. It's bigger than we expected. Big kitchen and living room. Great view on the patio/deck. The fees do add up to be a lot , but we knew about them prior to booking and just included them in the cost per night when budgeting. It's a little far away from kailua, but with the full kitchen next time we will do a few meals at the resort »
